I play it for a year.

I tried Series III / II Selmer showroom in Paris. I played before on a Mark VII that I still have.

The homogeneity of the sound is perfect. The bass is rich and full. Everything seems easier, even shrill. I love to play with the impression of discovering new facets of the saxophone every time I'm in love with my sax! I even think it has changed my way to the saxophone.
I play with a beak and red Meyer8 + Java 3.5 Reeds and this is a real treat.
I love the weathered old varnish. The finish is beautiful!
While it is expensive but I think it is the purchase of my life (at least for the next 15 years!)
After a year, I'm not tired, I still can not have this instrument in my hands! I go back to play!

5 min, but I'm dj love ...

- What is the particular feature you like best and least?

Power combines a unique grain.
We must get used to the cltage beginners ...

- Have you tried many other models before acqurir?

SERIES of 2, yam study and pro ... markVI, they both compete REFERENCE only my humble opinion ... I prfre the REFERENCE, we feel that technology has volumes for 60 years ... and then markVI in good condition at reasonable prices ...

- How do you report qualitprix?

I would say ok, worth. It is expensive but worth the hassle free, plus the super class is tui (tui rigid with leather around, not the shell-shaped "carbon"
)
As against this, can do without the specially SERIES "Charlie Parker tribute" (which just adds some dtails mainly Aesthetics, note the trs beautiful engraving on the roof of the hummingbird) which CHRE is a bit more. The viola rference standard is a bit cheaper and it's strictly the same thing in terms of music.
The series I bought specially because it silent in stock Rennes.

- With the exprience, you do again this choice? ...

It is a question of money and you want o put it, but the guy who has not and wants to "THE" saxophone of his dreams, he must not go further! This saxophone is simply exceptional heat and power are at the rendezvous, as well as the accuracy and precision, we really want to get into it so it "gives".

he is my son and we use it every 2, but me in my small way
we also have a Yamaha YS23 (I think) maintained very good. Before we had a TB Yanaguisawa quality too.
The difference is that Selmer is already the reference, then the selection bin ....... we listen to different styles! yes!
And then the sound of REF 54 wowed us over other models of the brand, made by its jazzy.
it has not démordu despite the price (negotiated in good MICHEL MUSIC Grenoble) and we left with.
I will not talk about the manufacturing quality of Selmer, who hast no reproaches with TB already guaranteed.
Finally, I would say that this sax is more aimed at musicians who have confirmed that little + to search with the ITS and unfailing specific respondent keys.
If I were doing this will not be a problem, only the price! Yes the quality is paid.
I do not notice 10 because I do not know how it will age.

For a year and a half.

"What thing do you like most/least about it?

The sound! the sound is very full, very rich, you'd sometimes almost hear a small tenor ...
The color is beautiful (a little brassy).

-Did you try many other models before getting this one?

Series II and III mainly.
The reference allows to combine the technical quality of current selmers with a grain of sound, full sound.
-What is your opinion about the value for the price?

Nine is still VERY expensive (more than 4000 € I think), but on occasion they are a good value for money.
I got it as new, with a beak SR Tech (price 300 €) and a house in leather for 2800 € all.

-Knowing what you know now, would you make the same choice? ...

For a saxophone factory recently, and if I can afford it, yes.

Note: I finally switched to saxophone King Zephyr II for his "old", not found on saxophones today, but the reference remains still a very high end product.
