The version tested here works on Mac.

The installation is done smoothly.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Tested on Mac Mini ... The program does not consume any system resource ... So do not worry (both PC and MAC) to make it work on all machines.

Even if the system does not seem to be stretched, there is still frequent crashes (without backup backup!) So remember to regularly pounding the keys apple + s to avoid all over again! (More details on this problem later in this thread).

For the story, I used this program 15 years ago! I first bought her little brother MusicTime and I spent (still 4000 F) to acquire Encore (PC version). Ranked among the juggernaut of the score editor at the time, it allowed you to edit partoches with a professional look and allowed to work on orchestral scores with extraction of parties ... 5 years of loyal service, yet has squatted the hard drive of my PC, I am familiar with its terrible ergonomics, its quirky interface and keyboard shortcuts doubt out of partitions - it is true - had a look really nice.

Since I dropped again and I am working on other software (Sibelius at the moment).

It is with great sadness that I re-tested last week on a Mac version at a friend ...

And then, surprise ... It's almost an identical version of the program 15 years ago! (My friend has version 4.5.6 to be exact) ... Only notable change: a configurable toolbar to display the icons of the functions most often used ...

And when I say "same version", I weigh my words: it's the same ... with the same bugs and even gaps in the PC version of 15 years ago ... It's amazing! the interface looks like a windows version 95 ... For example, there is no file in the menu function "recent files" ... to re-open a partition, it is necessary each time to go look it up in his repertoire (even if you just edit aupavant 5 minutes). Another example, you can not cancel the last event (no undo history) - worse - some functions (eg delete action) does not cancel at all ... It had better be sure of what we do!

And I could list a lot ... If programs such as Sibelius or Finale are shaped in real time the score here is not the case, was always the eighth shifted between the treble and bass clef (audio and graphics! ) and you have to select each part and ask the program to align (Figure) and sync (audio) ... like 15years ago!

Well, I do not even metals on comparisons with the features offered by other soft drinks market, it would be too long ... We will say that there are 15 years of evolution for the other ... I will not dwell on the blunders of Encore and tell you that - to 290 euros (they are afraid of nothing), it is better to choose to invest a little more to buy Sibelius or Finale ( I wonder if there is no cheaper versions of it ...)...

But go, last for a road that is really great. When you make a triplet of black again, the program does not draw the hook above the three notes at once, noooo, that would be too good, it just puts a "3" above each note (which, in music, does not mean anything). Therefore select your triplet and go to the menu to select two sub menus in the function that will do ... PC was the shortcut CTRL + M (handy because if there's a lot to do ... it's getting a bit long ...). And Mac, it opted programmers (logically!) For "Apple" + M. .. Except that this shortcut on mac ... is one that minimizes the window into the dock! lol!
