    SOUNDS

    Sound ..
The P-90 offers versatility and pannelle of interesting and diverse sounds :) Personally, I go from clean to rock to metal .. and .. even if it is not his chosen field ... sends his pate! :) So very good microphones that nothing is proved :)

I play with a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier .. its also plays a bit I think ^ ^

    OVERALL OPINION

I dug the last 2 years .. I do mnt never part ..
A good finish for this guitar (the thin layer of nitrocellulose is perfect)
I would do this choice without hesitation :)

damage that the guitar should not be delivered with flycase :/ (together considering the price .. ^ ^) for 700 euro was a SG that really the road and that has nothing to envy to its big sister the standard ;)

I would put a bé mol for mechanical, not of first quality ... but it can be easily changed and at a lower cost :) (personally I have let the original ones :))

    Value for money: Excellent :)

Unfortunately c is a guitar that will not see bcp, c is the rather faded with double humbeckers which are the most common (personally I've never seen someone with the same one as me, and I'm happy :))

if you have the opportunity to buy a sy ... went :)

I have been playing guitar for about five years. I bought this guitar about a year ago. I do play in a band, and play classic rock, hard rock and blues.

I bought this guitar new at Guitar Center and payed about $1000. I looked for many guitars, which included the Fender Road Worn Stratocaster 60s, the 50s, the Les Paul Studio, this guitar, the SG Special, and the SG Raw Power. I played all of them, and suddenly fell in love when I played the Gibson SG Classic.
I was looking for that deep, warm tone, but also, that punchy and hard rock tone, and this guitar has it all, because of the P90 Pickups.

The P90 pickups are simply unbelievable, and can play a variety of tones and types of music. The guitar looks superb too, with it's top notch mahogany wood. The tone of this guitar is also fantastic. The feel of the neck is so comfortable, I can never put the guitar down. The electronics are also amazing. It is very easy to use, and I can slide my fingers on the fretboard with ease and this guitar plays like butter.

There is one thing I don't like about this guitar. The nut isn't great, and needs to be replaced when you first buy this guitar (I replaced it). If I was working for Gibson, I would change the nut and change the tuners to Grovers or something like that. There are no missing features.

This guitar is made with fantastic materials. I think everything about the quality of the item is great. The fit and finish is great too. The pieces and sections fit together very well. Nothing fell off, and had this guitar, as mentioned, for one year. The reliability is fantastic, and never had to bring it in to the shop. I wouldn't worry if I dropped this guitar.

This guitar was worth every penny of my money and your money. I would buy this guitar again for the price I payed and it is fantastic value. People should buy this guitar, because everything about it is awesome, but remember, change the nut when you buy the guitar!

I bought this from Musician's Friend for $900. My old electric guitar, a Squier Strat, was simply not inspiring me to play electric.

This is the most important guitar I've ever played. The neck is a dream (that "Gibson grab") and with binding, the fingerboard feels great to the fingers, the finish is lovely with rich colours and mahogany grain, and the controls are sensitive. Suffice to say I started playing lead guitar because of this SG, and my playing improved 300% thanks to the superior craftsmanship. It is also extremely light and playable with unrivaled upper-fret access, in that special SG way.

The only complaint you might have is that this guitar comes with single-coil P-90 pickups, not humbuckers. But I happen to love these pickups, which have shades of the richness of humbuckers but the cutting and percussive qualities of single-coils. Also, typical of SGs, the guitar is neck-heavy and prone to falling down headstock-first and sustaining massive damage. It requires careful handling.

Fabulous. There is no better-built guitar in my arsenal.

Gibson is no longer making this guitar around 2000, but if you find it, it's a great acquisition. It's like the current Pete Townshend model with a sharper finish and an additional tailpiece.

I ordered this guitar online off of American Musical. I only paid $520 for this guitar and it is definately the best deal I have ever gotten. I think paying in the $500 range for a nice Gibson is a steal.

When I first got the guitar, it was hard to get used to the action and the feel of the neck (for me because I WAS a Fender player). After 2 or 3 weeks of playing it non-stop, it was very east to play and the neck was very smooth. Of course Gibson quality should be mentioned. The guitar has a beautiful nitro finish on it (like all non special Gibsons) and it really gives the guitar a classy look. The stock p-90's that came on it were amazing. The guitar has a beautiful nitro finish on it (like all non special Gibsons) and it really gives the guitar a classy look. The stock p-90's that came on it were amazing. The clean sound is very very nice and warm at the neck and very glassy at treble. The distortion sound is amazing as well. If you listen to The Who and Pete Townshend stuff, you know what I'm talking about. The distortion sound is very punchy. That was definately what I was looking for in the this guitar so, in my opinion, it was the best deal on earth for $500. The pearl "Gibson" on the headstock is also very good looking and classy.

I had a few dislikes for this guitar (but none the less a steal for that price). When i first recieved it, it need a "set up" really bad. The action of the guitar was not in the range I wanted it to be and it had a slight fret buzz on low E,D,and B. Also, it was hard to tune because the nut was not cut properly. After the set up(which will only cost you from 30-60$ at a shop) it played like a dream. The last dislike I have about this guitar is that, after putting it on a stand, the finish SLIGHTLY faded where the foam of the stand. I started not using the stand and putting it back in the case. Now its perfectly fine.

Like most/all Gibson construction, this guitar was beautifully crafted and had no cosmetic flaws of any kind. Gibson lives up to its reputation for craftsmanship and quality.

This guitar is a very very good guitar for the price Gibson put on them when they made them(this guitar is now discontinued, but i hope you can find one at your local store or online). Nothing gets better than this for 500$. I know ive said that about a million times but I can't get over the fact that I payed so little for it. I definately recomend this guitar for everyone. Great price for beginners and great quality for more experienced players.

The Gibson SG guitar is a guitar that was taken from the Gibson Les Paul style feeling and tone but with a few added features that makes this guitar much more versatile than a Gibson Les Paul guitar. First it has a double cut away body shape which almost looks like devil horns but the bottom part allows you to reach the higher frets of the guitar much easier than you can with a Gibson Les Paul guitar. Second, the body of the guitar is much thinner than a Gibson Les Paul which gives a little bit thinner tone for more focused and cleaner voicing overall. You lose a little bit warmth and girth to the tone, but it blends very nicely with most musical situations.

    UTILIZATION

This guitar features two P90 pickups two volume control knobs and two tone control knobs. You have a much longer scale neck and a Gibson Les Paul guitar so it's much easier to solo and play lead lines in the higher frets with this guitar. I really liked his guitar when using it in a recording studio because it has a good biting tone and the overall voicing his cuts through the sound a lot better than a Gibson Les Paul in my opinion. Gibson Les Paul is a great guitar and one of the most versitile guitars ever created but I find this takes what the Gibson Les Paul started and improves it.

    SOUNDS

This guitar has a warm mahogany body that gives it a nice thick tone when you use a lot of distortion or even mild overdrive. It has a very precise and cutting tone that allows you to play and cut through most bannd mixes. You won't have any problem hearing your guitar in a band mix with this instrument.

If you have a good high gain amplifier such as Marshall amplifier, a Bogner, or Mesa boogie then you can get some great thick saturated distortion tones with this guitar. Couple it with a good analog delay pedal or any other effects pedal and you'll have a very versatile guitar rig.

    OVERALL OPINION

I recommend this guitar to anyone is looking for an alternative to Gibson Les Paul guitar. These guitars generally are a little cheaper than a Gibson Les Paul and in my opinion have a little bit edge over the overall versatility between the two guitars. I pretty much recommend this guitar to any guitar player who needs a solid recording instrument or a highly reputable gigging guitar. So if you're an active performer than this is a great guitar and certainly a players guitar.

A superb finish SG faded, meaning that the wood is varnished to give it a vintage look that I find very beautiful! The price is more attractive compared with Heritage Cherry finish, but I much prefer the matte to gloss varnish.

The handle is a marvel (not surprising for a SG). There is no trapeze on the sidelines, but simple points such as "DOT" pearl. It does not matter, because it gives a very crude fits perfectly with the general spirit of the guitar.
Ergonomics is not surprising for a SG: thin, light and access to treble is very easy.

    SOUNDS

P90 ................... the best microphones in my eyes. The clean sounds are very creamy. With a good crunch or distortion is a bit further mushy, a little dirty, but still accurate. In short, good vintage sound.

    OVERALL OPINION

For me it's the perfect guitar. The finish is gorgeous. Some say it's a low-end finish, my v. ............ yeah! Apart from the varnish that is a matter of taste, the rest is really good violin. Some purists polémiquent even on the number of pieces of wood used to make the body (which sees only the back of that elsewhere), and although mine is in 2 pieces only, which is not bad I think. So even being picky, it's hard to find fault with him.
Only downside: the guitar is delivered in gigbag (soft cover), but at 640 euros is largely understandable. Do not push it anyway!
