« Between 84 and 184 »
Published on 09/02/11 at 09:54The KM 100 is "small microphones" static equipped with active capsules (AK)
There are currently seven different models of AK for all uses (see the site Neumann).
Mechanically, the capsules are quite fragile (the AK40) in particular. You must be very very careful. For example when screwed or unscrewed the cap on the body, small legs with openings can become detached ... the fillets are thin and can easily seize up ... They need to be lubricated from time to time.
OVERALL OPINION
But if one is careful, there is no problem. And it reminds me of the KM84 and more sober. It is less "sweet" as the 184. In short, it is for me the best small microphone now manufactured by Neumann with a fantastic versatility.
