Fender Deluxe 90
Published on 11/02/10 at 16:00This is the Fender Deluxe 90 with one 12' Celestion speaker. The 90 stands for 90 watts. The amp is styled after the classic Fender blackface design; a black back panel and silver grille cloth.
This was my first amp purchase as I was looking for something portable, loud and reliable.
I remember I purchased this amp at Dave Phillips Music and Sound in Phillipsburg New Jersey. It was their Fender Day and I got the amp on a good deal. Brand new I think it was around $300. Honestly this was about 10 years ago so I could be off a few bucks on the price.

The amp was easy to carry. It was a combo, so I could transport it in one trip. It had a clean and a dirty channel and a simple and effective EQ section.
Please understand, I am bashing this amplifier to educate others. I don't normally trash things on the internet, but these items need to be brought up.
1) The reverb never worked. I did not check this at the store because well I never use reverb, but it should at least work if it is going to come with the amp.
2) After the warranty went up the amp started working on and off. The volume would cut in and out. The whole time the power would stay on and would not blink. It is just quickly this amp went from a lean mean gigging machine to a paper weight.
The exterior is tough. It could take a bullet. The interior however, yikes. No working reverb and inconstant volume makes me give the quality a beyond poor rating. I have $50 practice amps that function better.
Bottom line: save yourself some money and one giant headache, do not buy this amp. It looks great on paper, but in real life does not work. The only use this amp has is an external 1x12 cab or a door stop.

Fender Deluxe 90
Published on 06/28/04 at 15:00I paid 870.EUR and got it at Star Musik in Finland, Helsinki. It was on sale!
I chose between the 90 DSP and the 90 Deluxe. I thought it had better things to offer and it was more compatible with external effects
Its compact size, lighter weight and its power. It boasts with powerful sound and I usually never go over 2 on a scale of 10. Of course when i play with my band i take it up a bit further, but for good sound with drums you need to take it up to 3/4. I like the finish. Noisewise it is good. It has a MAGICAL clean sound but distortion is not at the heights of such manufacturers as Mesa Boogie or some high end Marshall stacks. I find the AVT series better for this

Well it is a bit heavy for its size.
Like many other amps, this one uses a celestion speaker. Input power 90/95 watts, output power 230W. It has 2 channels, 2 inputs and 2 volumes. The Drive channel has a button which if pressed will deliver more drive. I got a footswitch with mine.
Great Buy, affordable price!!!
Sounds best with Fender of course!!!

this amp not only sounds good but it has lots of special features too. it has a reasonable price on it and it is good for inermedeate players.
what i dont like is, well nothing actually!
it has a 10" speaker inside with two tweeters and 14 knobs
this amp is a very nice amp and i would recomend it unless you were playing at a concert or something like that.
