- Very simple configuration, only one problem the switch on the front of the amp like clean / distortion or modern / vintage pots are too close so sometimes you chage deregulation lol

SOUNDS

- I play metal, core, death metal, thrash, black and even heavy often and I admit that it works well even sonoritées typed to find old school hard rock like AC DC or Guns N 'Roses

OVERALL OPINION

- I ais for a while now I have even specify that it is really reliable

- I love it geule as well as I board not the same logo as the picture but the one I board demonte even more to my liking.

- Before I board tried to acquire the line models 6, marshall, fender, etc. (the list and Asse long) and I stopped on it even though the AC is one of the first test that I board.

- I paid 300 € ais (reduction from my dealer that I know well) and I must say I am very happy with the investment that I board now while the lamp

- I would do this unless I choose a budget for me at all lamp but I would advise anyone doing mainly metal and wants to play in groups and even to those first scenes

UTILIZATION

Ben to set up, not too-making head, turn the knobs quickly in the two channels and go. Then we can refine well with all the settings mentioned above.
Quickly found a good sound, but hey it's still the transistor.

SOUNDS

In terms of what I play (mostly punk rock) is impeccable. I have a PRS SE Billy Martin and it works pretty good. Same as above but I'm really happy, but it is not perfect, or 9.

I for 3 years now, I chose because it made me a good price on it and that I had been well advised. I too tried other amps, but in hindsight, my situation dns beginner group with a modest budget, it's a choice I do not deny that I would do in the same situation.

Certainly: it is better than a 100W marhall but I'll still see at Ibanez or Fender to see but a good amp

Transistor amplifier 80 watts lamp Transtube formulation, expandable with 100 watts speaker supplmentaire. clear channel (vintage and modern) + 1 lead channel, 3 spare distorss with equalization. Between high and low gain. rverb, prsence, T rgler dynamics to the level of accumulation of light effects loop manages desire by footswitch. I would have a delay AIM, goes well with a rverb, but good with the effects loop or a good analog pedals ....
Construction that China has nothing to envy my old Peavey 1980 made in all States, except that the plastic footswitch ..... Prsentation simple but professional, trusted. Relatively heavy, 20 kilos.
Bought in 2005, not quite the same as dsign faade of the photo, more classes (see the prsentation 112 S )....

Surprise! In his clear, I did try some crazy Fender, for them it is OK for me too with my Aria Pro 2 82 (humbuckers) and my new Stratocaster Highway 1, jarrive have a pretty hot , lens, snapping and respects the grain well trs sound of the guitar.
For distorss, we can get the sound you want, a wide range, however a trs trs up quickly with the pre gain and can sometimes be rough: we must play with the potentiometer be volume.
A reference to the patent in Transtube vintage distortion: compared with a Fender hotrod deluxe-3-times more expensive your exact is really stunning, hot and gritty, in any case much better than any other multi effects. Warning, this is not an amp lamps, and can be found in Peavey's life with the classic 30 (2 times more) for a lamp that's true s'amliore as the hours with a purr characters teristic. But it's not Transtube Piper, a worth of ear before going into the tube. Rverbe The sound is deep and can be adjusted in tight or loose.

Presumably, if Peavey released in 2007 the Eleventh version of this amp and for so many years is that the product is good, and it sells well. Srement one of the best amp transistors in this price range (but above, we think ....). lamps

I love the sound of vintage overdrive mode and also like a modern mode is less than the sound of high gain mode which I find too "dirty"

Peavey's are just fun amps. They have a great sounding distortion and driving tone and they are very forgiving to play. They make you want to go out and join a metal band. The are inexpensive too which makes it all the better. I am not sure what the Sheffield in the model name is reference too other then the name of the speaker type that is in the cabinet.

This amp is called the transtube technology amp which basically means that it is still a solid state amp design but with an emulated tube tone. So basically what you get is an amp that is cheaper to produce and sell and still be able to sound a little bit better than a regular solid state amp. I have to say that it sound sound much fuller than a standard solid state amp.

You can definitely tell in the sound and tone that this amp is still a solid state amp. You just can't emulate a tube tone and have the same feel and punch that a real tube does naturally. However, this amp does take digital processing a step further in the right direction.

Any guitar sounds great with this amp. I like a nice Gibson Les Paul or another guitar with a humbucker pickup in it. Peavey amps I feel take humbuckers really well and smooths out some of that harsh high end that is naturally attributed to their tone. It sounds great with a Fender Stratocaster as well.

OVERALL OPINION

I personally like the sound of the Blue Marvel speaker compared to the Sheffield. The Sheffield doesn't compliment the tone of the amp as well as the Blue Marvel. I am glad they made the switch in the newest edition of this amp.

I would recommend this amp to anyone who needs a good amp for practice or jamming use. These particular model has been upgraded so you would have to score one of these on the used market. You can probably find one for just a little over $100 used. They do have a newer model which runs around the price of $370. Still not a bad price for a decent practice amp with some good tone.

I put less than 10 minutes to settle it and yet I'm just a debutante confirmed!

I just look a little manual (in English in my case, it's nothing but small criticism because it has still very good) to know what the purpose of each button, which normally <img class="smiley" src="/images/audiofanzine/interface/smileys/icon_lol.gif" alt="" />

But really <span style="text-decoration: underline;">nothing to say</span> on that front.

Well put the record straight, my guitar (Cort G210) is not a wonder!

BUT ... Here we see that it is the amp that is most important in achieving good sound.

The distortion is simply great, I gave my direct overdrive pedal I've heard of this distortion (a Boss SD-1)! Well I must admit it is big, <span style="text-decoration: underline;">more for metal and rock music for the Jonas Brothers little pop</span> but hey! Even if you are not metalheads (se) (like me ^ ^) it takes to taste this distortion.

So the sound clean now ... And although it is too! I have not heard much because after discovering the disto I totally forgot but I remember a round, sweet lime and when the "lever" is set to WARN.

The two "levers" are really cool, both in CLEAN LEAD channel, we get a good range of different sounds.

Well I think you guessed, I preferred the disto! Reverb with 4 or 5 (by the way, nice reverb, my old 15W amp and did not mean the difference ..) and the lever in the middle, you get a beautiful sound perfect for solos.

Small flaw: the HP saturates when the bass is too strong, not very nice to hear .. You have to think down low if you do not play metal like me.

I do not put "only" 8 out of 10 because of the small defect and also pck this amp is not really at the base to my style of music more funk, but set a little sound can get a lot of different styles, I reassures the followers of the little pop Jonas Brothers <img class="smiley" src="/images/audiofanzine/interface/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt="" />

it is perfect for advanced beginners like me guitar a few years behind them and aiùent play well in a few styles.

Frankly, do not hesitate on this amp, go for it!

If you don not like it you can resell it, the 2007 models are really <span style="text-decoration: underline;">hard to find time</span> (probably pck their owners do not want to leave!) Resale will be easy I think.

I found it at 170 euros fdp in, while the price is 275 euros nine, used but almost new. (I negotiated a bit ..)

Ps: I have the <strong>footswitch</strong> and I recommend to all buyers, very convenient to switch from clean round, soft, warm, distortion of the sick! ^ ^

UTILIZATION

Very easy to use!

I needed less than 10 min. to set it, even though I'm a beginner.

I just had to take a look inside the user's manual to know what's the function of each control.


SOUNDS

First of all, I have to mention that my guitar is no wonder (Cort G210)!

BUT: The amp is the most important component to get a good tone.

The distortion sound is just great: I don't use my distortion pedal anymore (Boss SD-1)! The distortion is quite fat: it's made for metal or big rock rather than for pop music. Even if you are not a metal freak (like me ^^) you might come to like it.

The distortion of the amp is its main pro.

Clean sound... is also good! I don't use it a lot since I heard the distortion sound. I can say the clean sound is round, soft and warm (with the switch in "warm" position).

Both switches are really cool, both in clean and lead modes. They give you a wide sound range.

Which sounds do you prefer / hate?

I prefer the distortion sound, as you might have already guessed.

Con: the speaker generates distortion when the lows are strongly boosted...

I give it an 8 because of this con and because it isn't really meant for my music style. However, tweaking the settings allows you to get a lot of different tones.



OVERALL OPINION

I've been using it since... yesterday.

I think I will use it for many years.

It's perfect for beginners who have been playing guitar for several years and like different music styles.

Don't hesitate: buy it!

PS: I also have the footswitch and I recommend it to all buyers.
