The preamp comes in the form of a black box out of which the son of 17 different colors.
from what I read somewhere on the net, it is cast in epoxy resin, but this remains to be seen!
For my part, I bought in the U.S. for € 100 not even nine!
and it was delivered in a cardboard box with a plastic bag containing three potentiometers for low frequency, midrange and treble + a 2 position switch for changing the frequency ranges of mediums you can choose between 400Hz and 800Hz.

UTILIZATION

At first when I saw all these son, I say "thin! Will have to wire all of this!".
but, taking the time to read the instructions and wiring, especially in the cable itself, it's really not difficult you just follow the instructions.
for cons, there is a errreur in the wiring diagram at the stereo I rectified by experimenting with different connections.
the manual is clear to one who takes the time to read it.

SOUND QUALITY

I prefer to prevent potential buyers of this amp, it does not Restitut the original sound of your mics, I have a Yamaha TRB-6 and I have my wired microphones and passive, just after I installed the preamp; Well, it has nothing to do with the sound!
the original sound of the Yamaha is clear and thin, adding the preamp, and there, the sounds are "hot" and "authentic", they are the only words that came to mind when I heard for the first time the sound coming out of my amp.
you can play any style of music, only, you must spend time on it to fine tune, patience always pays for the person looking!

OVERALL OPINION

This is not even a week since I have cable, and I took a taste of playing on my old SRT-6, 1996!
I love the most, is the warmth of the sound and the "grain" noise that I consider "authentic".
I like the least, it's like on most preamps, the treble.
when pushed to the bottom, they generate an audible breath, but I have not protected the cavity of the electronics and I only work with one 9V battery, so they advise to mount with 2 9V battery, which adds 6db and more!
the price / quality ratio is there, here is definitely worth the buy for those who want radical change of sound and to have this "grain" individual, I would say more, I recommend this preamp to lovers of vintage sound and professionals wishing to acquire a pre-amp that sounds very effective.
I do not know if I would do the experiment with the same choice, there are so many different preamps that I have not tried!

on 10/07/2009, so after a year of use on my SRT-6, I see always the versatility of this preamp, I can play jazz, rock, funk, nothing can resist him!
the only thing that I repproche is persistent breath when pushing the treble to their limits.
and now I plan to change the pickups for my yam Bartolini G6 and certainly add an extra battery for my 9-volt aguilar 6db for more in my opinion, I will certainly switch to a superior level of quality the question!
