Made in Mexico, "collector" to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the brand
21 frets so-called vintage but in fact they are as big as jumbo
3 Simple Tex Mex pickups
Bridge 6-point ink, traditional
Settings strato standard classical models see
Channel C vintage look because of the varnish, dark + side
Gray (like the sky) pearl, original but could have been found for a better birthday! Moreover, we must see the guitar back to notice that it is a "collector".
UTILIZATION
I own several Fender Stratocaster so I'll compare against a standard Mexican and I like that I play on stage.
The handle grip because of the varnish. Bizarre because I also has the Classic 50's is even more polished but it does not catch. Here is a compromise between missing vintage lacquer and varnish really very light modern standards. Difficult to insert a finger on it, even after several minutes of play was under the impression that it sticks.
Access to acute is like on the other strata, easy, for against due to finish on a sloppy fret and the varnish on the handle scrapes his fingers on the last notes. Too bad.
Ergonomics: it is unpleasantly heavier than conventional strat
This gives her a necessity, then comes ...
SOUNDS
Question's: I bought because I wanted to qqn another sound and my luthier told me that the Tex Mex pickups were well balanced. There with the collector was a matter on which I skipped. I just turn the knobs in all directions, the sound has no personality, no more fishing than on a standard, no edge, it seems very monotonous ... I prefer my strato standard for micro céramic whistling a little but at least there is the sound of the strato!
I play on a Matrix 100W H & K, a good amp but the pb comes from the guitar.
OVERALL OPINION
I kept several months. I put on the willingness to get used to but I gave up every time, too bad. I thought I found what I was missing but this is the round plate "collector" that I missed.
I have many other models and I much prefer the classic 50's Strato standard and Splatter.
Value / price: € 450 bought used but in excellent condition so no complaints. say that to happen to make very bad choices.
I will not go this election and yet God knows I love the Stratos ... In fact I managed to sell at the price I had purchased. Good riddance!
