Fender Jeff Beck Stratocaster
Published on 12/01/01 at 15:00I bought the guitar second hand, It was made in 1991 and I own it since two years. I have paid 900 EUR, ($ 800) for the guitar, with tolex box included.
The guitar has a great range op sounds and possibilities. From an amazing humbucker sound to an extreme pure and typical fender sound. The lace-sensors are very clean, less noise. But when you use tube-amps, it is really funny. the '58 steel feels pretty well, It tunes very easy and accurate. The guitar plays very easy, it feels you can play twice as quick.
Frequent use of the tremolo makes frequent tuning necessary.
I think the neck is difficult for persons with small hands.

My guitar has a "surfin' green" colour, rosewood fingerboard, and the humbuckersized bridge pickup. It has an additional knob for changing the sound of that pickup : singlecoil or humbucker.
since 2001 a newer version ap the Jeff Beck is available, the neck seems better for smaller hands. The pickups have changed.
It is an exceptional guitar, a very complete instrument with , I think, almost all sound possibilities in one instrument... and well done.
It is not cheap, but buying a gibson Lp and a fender american standard costs more and is more difficult when performing.

Guitar US, pure juice.
neck maple fingerboard 22 frets, locking tuners car (mechanical lock), roller nut Wilkinson (nut bearing) a pleasure to hold the tuning.
Lace Sensor Pickups GOLD:
single neck
mid single
bridge humbucker splitable single / double
shielded cavity (it is silent as the grave when not playing)
system of compensation for loss of treble when the volume reduces
Bridge 2 points
Volume, Tone1, Tone2 (TBX) inverter split humbucker
UTILIZATION
The neck is thin (profile C) and very pleasant
It no longer describes the ergonomics of a Start, this model has the great advantage of being able to move from a pure Start sound with sound thanks to the double Humbucker Lace Sensor and inverter positioned between the tones.
SOUNDS
So, it becomes adaptable to lots of styles, including big sounds with the right equipment. Of crystalline Heavy without a problem, a pure delight. I wanted a Start but I was wondering the problem of the too typical, I solved it by choosing this model.
OVERALL OPINION
I have 3 years, I see nothing to criticize, it's a Start with some flaws and less in terms of its adaptability.
I tried a lot, she's nothing she or equivalent.
the price / quality ratio is very good for an exceptional model, I paid around $ 1600 and is well worth it ...
I would not change for anything with a single model three.
I love that scratching!See less20 - MusashiChanPublished on 08/26/07 at 04:03 (This content has been automatically translated from French)This model is out of the plant from 1991 to Corona? (1999 I think).
This is generally a Start Plus with a single handle specified for Beck. The profile is typed late 50 C, in a slightly larger, with a touch of 9.5 ".
Sperzel locking tuners and Schaller.
Nut ball bearing Wilkinson, 2 types by year of production (produced for strings 9 or 10 max ... after the nut can create blockages).

The TBX tone system enriches the sound of the middle beyond a classical tone .... great.
The first copies have a button in Paeroa iron in place of Rosewood
My fan following of vintage Start, I am in love with the perfect quality and complete specifications of the Start!
UTILIZATION
Channel quite right in the hand, but ultimately ultra easy it is in the field of real strata on all points! mine is a bit heavy (3.8 kg) but sounds great.
For sound, with four microphones, the TBX tone on the middle, it was all right away in the Start sounds without buzz .... and, for the home studio, it's magic!
SOUNDS
All pickups are fully usable! Unlike many strata that only sound on the neck and / or middle, or the contrary in the register bridge / middle. it is often necessary to mix brands of pickups and microphones, this models, nothing to change!
OVERALL OPINION
Besides the color (not necessarily very modern ... (graffiti yellow for mine as in the photo) is a beautiful strat.
I, who swore by the vintage or reissue, I dared to pass the course and try (and buy immediately!) This guitar and frankly it's worth it to know forgetting the (modern, color, 2 microphones bridge) not necessarily in the mind to have a Strat pure sound!!
Start one of the best sounds I heard!See less20
