Fender Tex Mex Stratocaster
Published on 01/21/08 at 15:00I've been playing on and off for 30 years now. I've been in bands in the past but nothing major.
Paid $600 on ebay
Great neck, great fat tone from the humbucker pickup in the bridge position. Can still get that nice Strat clean tone with the standard pickups too.
The pickguard
First class construction. This is an American Stratocaster so it just feels higher quality if you know what I mean.
Overall this is a great electric guitar and a great steal at $600. There were a few nicks in the back, but it doesn't detract from the tone. Great guitar.

Fender Tex-Mex Stratocaster
Published on 09/17/02 at 15:00I got this tex mex strat at a store called Guitars Plus. I was looking for a nice bluesy sounding guitar and I knew I wanted a Strat. It was used so I paided about 400 dollars. The owner said it had been sitting in a stock room for a couple years and he brought it back to his shop and there it was waiting for me.
I love the way this guitar feels and plays. Its got the vintage hardware the tex mex pickups and a rosewood fretboard. It is does extremely well for playing Stevie Ray Vaughan type stuff and it is just a really nice guitar.
There is really nothing i dislike about this guitar. Its perfect for me. If you want to get the true tone out of it put big strings on it.

The quality is great. I've wacked it off a few things and stuff got a few marks and nicks in it, but thats what happens with gigging and a hard playing style.
This guitar is great for blues and classic rock. I would hate seeing a punk rocker playing one of these. These are great guitars even though they are made in mexico they are still very nice.

SOUNDS
Ideal to take the SRV and consors. Microphones fairly quiet questions parasites or default armor, overpowered, TRS in START typs their grain but they become sluts pousss full volume, the sound is distinct, clean and not when crachotte 'you push that little in his last bte retranchements.Elle do not disassemble the highest gain (large metal distortion), but not its registry issue of its grain. The Holy Grail of blues / rock. First contact (though I have seen him stratophile dfile and others), only the TEX MEX given me the impression of power of play is physical, dificil say a few words ... not love at first sight, but better, feel putting your fingers on the "good" guitar. I plug in, turn on the amp, it sounds IMMEDIATE across the board, the feeling of holding a CLNE Number One in the hands.
OVERALL OPINION
A good strat among many, hard to say that the TEX MEX are worse or better than others. In Stratocaster, choice and the sounds are so subtle a guitarist a autre.Je say only that it's worth trying to be, and bingo if you pass through the guts as aa t the case for me. Rsolument good strat Boure caractre.Jimmie of Vaughan has not done his war-horse for nothing.See less20
