MGR/Bluesman Dan
« Fender Tex-Mex Stratocaster »
Published on 09/17/02 at 15:00I got this tex mex strat at a store called Guitars Plus. I was looking for a nice bluesy sounding guitar and I knew I wanted a Strat. It was used so I paided about 400 dollars. The owner said it had been sitting in a stock room for a couple years and he brought it back to his shop and there it was waiting for me.
I love the way this guitar feels and plays. Its got the vintage hardware the tex mex pickups and a rosewood fretboard. It is does extremely well for playing Stevie Ray Vaughan type stuff and it is just a really nice guitar.
There is really nothing i dislike about this guitar. Its perfect for me. If you want to get the true tone out of it put big strings on it.
The quality is great. I've wacked it off a few things and stuff got a few marks and nicks in it, but thats what happens with gigging and a hard playing style.
This guitar is great for blues and classic rock. I would hate seeing a punk rocker playing one of these. These are great guitars even though they are made in mexico they are still very nice.
