« Fender Deluxe Powerhouse Strat »
Published on 09/03/03 at 15:00I bought this from a local shop, only because the online place I ordered it from didn't deliver as promised.
I paid the 500 or so sticker price.
The feel is as good as the $900 American so far as I can tell. The tone is very good, in particular the 2nd switch setting, has a great tele/strat twang to it.
I did replace the bridge pickup with a Seymour Duncan '59 but only because I wanted a bit more bite on the 1st switch, the included single coil sounds just fine for what it is.
The fit and finish was superb on all visible areas. The onlt issue, and this really is just getting nit-picky, was some paint run under the pickguard, again, nit picky.
Plays fantastic, sounds great.
I knew it only had 21 frets, which is standard Strat stuff, but I wish it had 22.
Otherwise, none, nada, bupkus.
Excellent overall quality. It feels like a solid piece of gear, unlike some cheaper, knock offs, (or squire's)
Fine piece of equipment, if you are looking for a 500ish dollar Kickin' Guitar, this is it. Also I forgot to mention the Mid Boost on the bottom knob, this works out great if you want a lead boost without using another piece of gear.
