Fender Showmaster Blackout
Published on 05/26/05 at 15:00I acquired this sweet guitar at a local guitar shop called Gulia's Music in Canton, Ohio. I paid $499.99. I had no intentions whatsoever of buying a new guitar that day, but it just stood out. It's a beautiful sight. It seemed too good of a deal to pass up. And, its been a pleasure to own.
The entire guitar is black. My personal favorite color. (Note the name "Blackout".)With the Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbucker, it has a pure heavenly tone. It's also very lightweight and comfortable for high-end reach.
As I am usually a diehard Gibson fan, I prefer two tone and two volume controls, which this guitar only has one of each.

As I am usually a diehard Gibson fan, I prefer two tone and two volume controls, which this guitar only has one of each.
The 2 point whammy though it isnt floating stays in perfect tune. The tuners are locking. The electronics are equipped with a reverse wound Seymour Duncan, 59 in the neck position. And, a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbucker in the bridge. The neck is set and the fretboard has 24 frets easily accessible with no silly fretboard markers. There is also a graphite nut and most importantly everything about the guitar is solid black.
I couldn't have asked for a better deal. I'm very pleased with my purchase, it has all the features I'd normally receive with a high-end guitar. It's probably the best Fender I've ever owned. It has a style all its' own.

SOUNDS
The blackout is oriented Metal. it sounds remarkably well in the most by
configurations. But I play on a small amp (marshall MG10cd) with multi purpose (korg AX1500G) sounds come out very well.
OVERALL OPINION
