Fender Standard Stratocaster HSS [2009-2018]

My 14-year-old son recently bought a bass and since I jam off an on with some buds I figured it would be a good bonding experience with the kid. As a friend of mine once said, the family with the best toys, keeps the kids close. I got the strat at the Guitar Centre in a deal with a Fender bassman 25 watt amp, with the axe pricing out to about $325...list is $384 (brown sunburst)but I suspect they will deal lower.

Strat looks good and is easy to handle. Action is good and fast enough for my admittedly somewhat amateurish level, but is also a capable instrument in the hands of more advanced players. Sounds good even played through a bass amp, and the tome controls and switch are easily adjusted to a range of sounds hard and trebly to soft an bassy.

not much to dislike about the guitar. I played several starts at several different places and sound and feel was very consistent. The only thing I didn't like ws the plastic protective sheet over the pickguard which is really difficult to remove. Sharp fingernails will scratch it, so I can imagine what it will look like after a few months of picking -- but it is easily replaceable.

It's definitely a notch above Squier strats, frets are well-seated and fit and finish is very clean. Big plus, has no problems staying in tune even with (over)use of whammy bar.Frets are well-seated and fit and finish is very clean

I can wholeheartedly recomment the strat. And if you can't afford an American made classic, the Mexican manufactured version is big steup up from the decent but limited Squier version.

made in mexico but purchased in the usa in 2006 as fender sends his best instruments "mexico" on the US market, less good copies are for the remains of the world while dealers know ...

USE

All uses of a good strat with a possibility to play solo or with the edgy rock humbucker "wide range" alnico. Channel fine and pleasant, Action set much lower than on Higway or Jeff Beck Signature '.
Even a lab monkey could pull a sound this guitar so why not a guitarist ...

SOUNDS

Actually, I am a regular fender, I had 5 or 6, the neck pickup is soft and slamming, but beware, set it properly, do not hesitate to reassemble some level of acute, From what is honey!
Position 2 and 4 great is crystalline perfection, really beautiful.
Position 3, I never use whatever I play the guitar apart on telecaster.
Position 5, the humbucker is powerful and granular, to tell the truth I do not play that position 5 as the possibilities of this double are great.
It can be used in clean, (it's not a Emg he grain), or it does better than just usually mounted on the other fender.
In overive it tough and aggressive sounds just right, it's still very vintage, you need to know.
Saturation, it sounds as good as my Gibson 490 T and to my taste is much singing as active EMG.
In short it opens new doors to the Strat.

NOTICE GLOBAL

If you love the sound fender but you are solites and is the single of your fender too "skinny", turn to your fat strat and preferably a pre-2007 model directly from the USA. In any case forget your a priori on the fat strat, double RANGE Wide alnico also sounds a vintage single coil and offers a wider range of possibility.
The most versatile guitar I own, the one I always use in concert. For just 650 euros ...
If my flying I would buy the same but white for me to play Hendrix ... Really a very good deal.

UTILIZATION

The best race I have ever had to play ... Varnish very fine and pleasant to the touch, the profile fits me perfectly (c-section, or too thin or too thick). The body is of good size (a thickness that inspires confidence). a diffusion vacuum ample, generous and precise. The action can be set low enough, no frieze, a joy for the ears and fingers! The ergonomics of the body is well established and finishes are more than respectable for a Mexican! perfect!

The ergonomics of the body is well established and finishes are more than respectable for a Mexican! perfect!
