« Versatile, good value »
Published on 05/11/11 at 06:06Made in Japan in the 90s. Much better than Ibanez today!
The bridge is the LoPro Edge licensed Floyd Rose. It is perfect ... Dive bombing with no problem: you can loosen the strings at the bottom, it amounts to fair deal! Never seen that! on the other hand to match, like all Floyd's cotton ...
It has 24 jumbo frets on a Wizard neck whose reputation is second to none.
Originally three microphones, two doubles and a single to center (I believe QM1 and QM2 QS1) Configuration: Double handle - split sleeve & easy - simple - split easel & single - double easel.
Setting: a volume, tone.
UTILIZATION
Channel type Ibanez Wizard! Enough said ... Ferrari! It is even too fast for me, I'm afraid!
A little heavy in my version (MH) but comfortable. Access to acute impeccable. The original pickups are a little behind, I placed PRS HFS and Vintage Bass Trebble, suddenly the beast explodes ... Only just stayed home.
SOUNDS
Its very fat and rather typed metal. MH version but we are pleasantly surprised, it is very versatile, having said that, it's not a Stratocaster, far from it ...
All sounds are usable, a little lack of character on the simple one, maybe. My favorite: double bridge, split-center shaft.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it since 1994 I believe, I 'bought a lai - happy - whim.
I like the quality of the Violin, mahogany finish (MH) and golden hardware.
It lacks just a soundboard more snapping maple to be perfect. Matter of taste. But would it then still a RG in this case?
An excellent choice, and used it to make the case. Just make sure that the neck is straight. Wizards at that time had a tendency to twist ... but mine has never experienced this kind of problem. Go for it!
