« Ibanez S470 »
Published on 11/29/03 at 15:00I got this guitar off of ebay, never had seen one before at the local music shop, but it was such a good deal i couldnt pass it up.
It had 2 Dimarzio Pickups, and 2 Steve Vai pickups,
Paid $325...
I love the sleek, beutiful body design, its so nice and thin. Very sturdy feeling though. The deep pearl red i got is absolutley beautiful, couldnt be happier with the body and finish.
Im really not sure how the stock pickups were, but the upgraded ones in the guitar now absolutley scream when you want them to. The guitar has a very nice deep sound to it. The neck is smooth and fast(though i wish it had 24 frets). The older trem in it is much better than the trems in the new RG's, and S's in my opinion(i used to have an (RG 320) It stays in tune, takes a beating, never fails.
I guess i have a few very minute complaints, and that is it comes with a 22 fret neck, and i much prefer the 24 fret neck included with my old Ibanez RG 320. Next would be that replacing strings is a kinda a pain the first few times(though thats not just this guitar, but nearly all guitars with trems)...
Other than that, how can i complain about such a great guitar.
Greatly out performs my Fender Fat strat(and my old 320)
Its built solid, very solid. The trem is very sturdy, the whold guitar just feels right.
Buy this guitar, and to get the most potential out of it, upgrade the pickups.
If you are debating on a guitar, and have about 300 bux to spend, look for an Ibanez S470.
