I bought this guitar online at american musical supply.com. I played one at my local dealer and had to have one. Paid $640.

I really like like the look and design of these guitars. I got the quilted maple natural finish which makes the guitar if you ask me. The "point zero" tremolo is awesome too. Its almost impossible to knock this thing out of tune. Quality of materials and craftsmanship are excellent for a Korean made guitar.

My guitar was not set up properly when I got it. The bridge, bridge saddles, and action were all out of whack. Plus, the stock pickups are terrible. They're very noisy and dont have enough output. These are all things you can expect from almost any guitar that is not a custom shop though. I took out the stocks and put in a Duncan Dimebucker in the bridge position, a Duncan 1/4 pound in the middle, and a Duncan distortion in the neck position. I had a tech set up my action, tremolo and saddles. This guitar was kinda weak when I bought it, now its a madman.

Wizard neck is very thin and fast, its also the same neck you will find on prestige series Ibanez. Fretboard plays very well and has no visible flaws. Hardware is very nice.

I recommend one of these for a beginner, or if you are looking to customize a cool guitar on a tight budget. This is the only guitar I have ever bought that I thought was worth every penny.

I bought this guitar at my local music store that normally doesnt stock Ibanez. This guitar was a very new trade-in. It cost me $700AU but brand new i think they're about $1400 AU

I love everything about this guitar except for the stock pickups. Good, deep sound , not much sustain or harmonics. The floyd rose is great. its pretty light and is real thin and comfortable to play. it has a very low heel on its bolt-on neck.
I bought the one with the blue chipstone finish and it looks ablolutely awesome. it has the wizard 2 neck that is real thin and real flat, so if your into les pauls, dont get this instrument.

the pickups, the tiny strap buttons.

construction is great, built like a brick, weighs like nerf.

its a great guitar. If you duwntune to drop D a lot but still want to use the trem bar, just dont tighten the locking nut that locks the E and A.

UTILIZATION

The access is very easy to acute, the fineness of the guitar, and the handle, make the game very flexible, very nice.

SOUNDS

I used the one with a Marshall MG 100 + POD 2 and various distortion, and then the ca carrache severe, microphones make the sound very precise despite all saturated with a large, sharp precise, although low, unwanted micro demarques.j acute for the Hard Rock, Metallica style, and stick microphones for sound type guns and roses, is quite chaud.C polivalant, at value for money, no complaints.

OVERALL OPINION

I used the last two months, my favorite is the quality of its 7 th micros.C is my guitar (strato, les paul, ibanez ...) and for the hard rock is the c prefere.OUI I would do without this choice eSite.

UTILIZATION

It is lgre super, super fine, it's a pure joy. The handle is ultrathin, the notes come out alone. The highs are accessible trs. It's not a race, it's a track dcollage! The 10/10 is amply MRIT!

SOUNDS

This skyscraper is to forge mtal, hard-rock and even punk. It really can play all styles with rock, just the rgler. The pickups are a good distortion. The severe highs, notes are clear. A sound more than correct. The range of the possible is standard. No worries about that.

OVERALL OPINION

This is my Premire scratch, I'm really happy. I play mtal it for about 2 months and I do not found it ngatifs points. I got it for 400 used, so if you can have it at this price, go for it!

UTILIZATION

The neck is super nice, Access in acute poses no problem. It does not specially heavy pse ... PSE it the weight of a guitar what. The shape is cool (hhh The series has the sword of the mouth all fawn)
And we get easily a good sound, with three microphones, which are really good for Ibanez, and selector.

SOUNDS

I play the rhapsody, Yngwie Malmsteen, Children of Bodom Dark Moor and ... nothing to say.

Personally there are two things that struck me when I tried it before buying it. Of a harmonics! the pickups are great artificial harmonics, and as long as the proper gear behind, and many harmonics sound 2 times stronger than the notes!
Deuxime thing and it is the sweeps, the neck and the pickups really allow game sweep (arpges) comfortable and pleasant dtendu ... dconcertant even see ... and super prcis (I play normment in its sweep when my sduit)
No dufficult a ringing al.

OVERALL OPINION

The mouth of hell, the look of madness, the amount of sounds that can be drawn diffrends.
I tried (before I pay the one), the LDT, an ESP, several stratos, and a lot of guitars of various brands of hard ..... before you fall for the ibanez saber ^ ^
I said that the quality of this guitar for that price, well, it's interesting. with the stuff behind it is a guitar that can play well in concert before hundreds of people.
Yes I remake that choice tomorrow if it was needed!

EDIT: As I am not against that fits this guitar has a real beginners, because of the excessive ease of play is a guitar that achte for sound and not for work. Because as I said the handle does not build muscle the fingers and wrist (or then fawn on trs). That is why I am quite inclined to recommend this guitar has those matrisent guitaristic basic dj techniques ...

The Ibanez S-470DX is a long running guitar in the budget line of guitars that Ibanez offers. This guitar is for people who can't afford a Prestige model, and there are some telltale differences once you start playing these. There are tons of differences between the various incarnations of this guitar, but the one I played had a mahogany body, maple neck with rosewood fretboard, S style inlays, a ZR trem, two humbuckers with a single in the middle for HSH configuration, one volume, tone tone and a five way switch.

UTILIZATION

The fretwork on this model is definitely iffy at best. The one I played had lots of sharp edges, and the action wasn't able to go as low as I would have liked. To me, that's a big killer when it comes to selecting a guitar. The fit and finish seemed fine, but then again, there wasn't much to go wrong considering how much more basic this model was compared to other models. I'm glad they included the ZR tremolo as that's a very nice trem which feels super slick thanks to its ball bearing system.

SOUNDS

FIrst of all, this guitar didn't seem to resonate as much as the Japanese Prestige guitars that I'm so used to playing. In fact, this guitar sounded pretty dull for whatever reason. Maybe it was just one of the unlucky ones. Anyway, the stock pickups on these guitars are absolutely horrendous. I didn't replace them with the one I played, but I'm generally the person who replaces stock pickups -- especially Ibanez ones. I find DiMarzios to work best in these guitars for whatever reason. My personal picks would be the Air Norton, True Velvet and Evo 2.

OVERALL OPINION

If you're looking for a budget Ibanez, buy a used Japanese Prestige model. These lower made guitars really aren't worth considering. The older Japanese guitars are that much more better, in my opinion. They feel better, resonate more, have the original Edge tremolo and just seem to fit me so much better than these budget models. That said, I'm glad to see they started using the ZR trem on the budget models instead of the awful TRS bridges.
