Peavey Raptor EXP Plus
Published on 11/15/04 at 15:00I bought this guitar from Musicians Friend, for $199.00
I like the warmth of the sound, and the pickups
I don't like the whammy bar, it comes loose sometimes.
The construction is great for a Peavey, and the quality is awesome.
If you're learning guitar, get this one! It rules!

Published on 08/15/04 at 15:00At LA music for $200.
Good sound and is nice and simple.
Not too sturdy and the nut turns by itself.
It is average construction and is a great first guitar.
Is good but you may have problems.

Published on 05/13/04 at 15:00I bought this guitar at my local music store for 159.99.
I like the humbucker, and the whammy bar doesn't make the guitar fall out of tune. Nice Smooth Neck
It buzzed when I put the thicker strings I like (GHS Boomers, 11s) on it, but after adjusting, it got a bit better.
Pretty good. Nothing very special
Good for the price. Don't use heavy strings, its not worth it. I like the tuners, very smooth, and don't lose tune very much.

Published on 01/16/04 at 15:00I bought my Raptor from Strings and Things in Memphis, TN, for $159.00 Plus tax.
My favorite feature is the humbucking pickup in the bridge position,it really adds a new deminsion of tone to the guitar. It has a slim, fast neck, and the frets ends are fairly smooth. it also has Schaller locking tuners, a big plus when compared to some entry level guitars.
My biggest problem is the output jack nut loosens on me periodically. An available maple fretboard would have been nice, too.
For an entry level guitar it is nice, the finish is very durable, so far. the neck joint has about 1/16 th overlap on the bottom cutaway but does not cause any problems.

A very good guitar. While I have considered trading it in to upgrade, I haven't actually done it. I think I'll hold on to it and wait till I can afford to upgrade out-right and just keep this one.

Published on 05/05/03 at 15:00I aquired this unit from Freehold Music Center for $150.It was a birthday present
Overall, the unit is a good beginner's axe.The 5-in-one stock pickup delivers good clean sound, and the neck is just so easy to manipulate. The guitar is rather light,so be careful not to fling it across the room when going out of controll when playing a metal piece, like my idot friend
Nothig is really wrong with is, just good for beginners, much better stuff out there
Its solid body and preety strong, light too
Overall,a good beginner's guitar. If you can,get something better. But again, the price is unbeatable for an entry level player

Published on 02/13/03 at 15:00about US$380 in a package with a peavey rage 158 amp at East Coast Music Mall as a first guitar
This was my first guitar, before i played on my brother's old Squier Stratocaster for about a year. This guitar's neck isn't the fastest thing, but it isn't slow, the construction was good, only a little undersanding where the neck bolts on. I like the humbucker on the bridge.
neck could be faster, wish there were 22 frets
only a bit of undersanding where the neck bolts on
good quality guitar, no major problems and i've had it for a while now. begginers this is a good start.

UTILIZATION
Good point I find the handle very nice, I must say that it is relatively thin and with a low action I find it quite to my taste. The access to the highs is easy (as a strat what). This gives a fairly wide range of sounds thanks to the single and double pickups with 5 position selector.
SOUNDS
I find the clean sounds good in position 1 and 2, the cool crunch in 4. After I never play with a lot of distortion, especially for double I like playing the blues. The simple to classic rock. OVERALL OPINION
I use it for 6 months before I took up guitar as I pack out my beginner 10 years ago. Compared this guitar I was surprised, I aitrouvée much better finished and more playable than my old guitar. Compared to its competitors I enjoyed having a double, what we find only knew the Cort G210 in this price range (or so hard on a Squier). So I hesitated with Cort, but the budget was cut for me. If the new Cort is cheaper, as I found the Peavey OCCAZ of a mouthful of bread was quickly chosen. Even nine 150 euros it has a very good value for money. It's a perfect guitar for beginners but the advantage is that you can continue to progress with and we n'atteind not immediately limitations. It helps me discover what I like and know what I will choose pourlaremplacer guitar, but I never regret the time I spent with her.See less30
