UTILIZATION
This guitar features three pickups installed into this instrument. You have a humbucker in the bridge position you have a single coil in the middle and another single coil in the neck position. This gives you a fatter array of tonal options. In addition you have a volume control knob and two tone control knobs as well as a pickup selector. What I really like about this guitar is the red and black celluloid pick guard. Everything makes this instrument pop cosmetically because of the offset colors that goes with the bare wood backdrop.
SOUNDS
If you've ever played any type of Fender Stratocaster then you are going to get a very similar sound out of this instrument. You get a nice thick tone because of the humbucker installed. The bare wood really gives this instrument resonance better than a painted guitar. What happens to most guitars when they have a paint job on top is that they don't resonate as well as bare wood with just a hand wrapped oil finish. This allows this guitar to have a great tone and a great feel for pretty much a style of music. Whenever music you're playing with it be a clean amplifier all the way of two a modern high gain amplifier, these guitars will sound great in any application.
OVERALL OPINION
These guitars have obviously been discontinued for quite some time because Tom Anderson is no longer with Schecter. So finding one might fetch quite a large amount money. But if you do find one for a decent price you're basically getting a Anderson built guitar probably a lot cheaper than you would buy a new or Anderson model guitar. These are great sounding guitars and they have a great feel and a great tone for all styles of music.

Being given the particulires CHARACTERISTICS of this model, my opinion is probably not gnralisable other Schecter Start
UTILIZATION
The handle has the particularity to be little varnish. His contact is extremely soft and warm (much more than my Lespaul). I've never seen anything like it on another guitar.
Floyd + block + rope = mcaniques blocking Keeping agree impeccable!
For the rest of ergonomics: it's a normal Start, then trs comfortable.
Given its equipment, it is a little heavier than a Start "classic", but when even less than Lespaul.
SOUNDS
With two singles, a double and a splittable plette boost the sounds is enormous!
knob The volume is extremely linear and can perfectly CONTRL output level.
On the saturated channel of the amp, one passes easily from a clear (and simple micro volume to 1 / 4 of the race) sound hyper saturax (micro double bottom + boost) without touching the amp !
By pushing the level of boost can be saturated any amp and get a rock / grunge dirty well on the clean channel.
The microphone is wired in central phase inversion from the neck pickup and single coil humbucker when it is split.
This allows for sounds "out of phase" trs Start in positions 2 and 4.
The humbucker in the bridge position, Floyd and the boost can also play mtal or Van Halen, Satriani, Vai & Co without problem (if the fingers follow ...). Harmonics fuse in every way!
Because of the violin and microphones, grain gnral is warmer than a Start "classic" less crystalline.
It is closer to SRV as Hank Marvin.
OVERALL OPINION
I possde this guitar since 1998.
This is an excellent instrument, but I use it because my little trs Lespaul is even better when adapting my style (even if it is 1000 times less versatile!).
It should be angry srement of dlaisser and not to offer him an amp its height!See less10 - AnonymousPublished on 07/23/06 at 23:37 (This content has been automatically translated from French)I have no real technical information.

Three slecteurs two positions instead of classical slecteur 5 positions.
The bridge is brand Schecter, a rod can be screwed vibrato.
At the rear, the plate is mtal chrom.
The weight of the lev is rather more so than a Fender.
UTILIZATION
The handle is one of the strengths of this guitar. Ms. APRS 24 years of use, the varnish is like new and it seems to rev extremely thick and "hard", the touch is exceptional and trs fluid (but see nothing with Ibanez, we are here in the vintage!). This handle is a real stake in the maker of the passages are absent.
Getting a good sound ncessite one thing: connect the BTE on a good amp. For me, this is a Fender Super 112. A Twin work (Obviously) also great.
SOUNDS
As a stratovolcano, it should all play styles: funk, blues, rock.
Obviously it is perfect for playing Knopfler, as it is to play the SRV (10-52 with a draft for more prsence one or two compressors and a tube screamer).
The Super 112 and a compressor enough to sound like MK.
It also sounds well trs funk rhythm, the sounds are relatively saturated prcis, except in large saturations, it is really not made for that.
OVERALL OPINION
I use this guitar since I bought it in 1989, she was 6 years old the era. Its handle is great, sounds trs idiennes stratovolcano, with an incredible clarity. I only regret the lack of roundness of the neck pickup, pais less than what can be achieved with some Fender.
I use it on scne, studio and rptition. Hardly anyone connate Schecter so it's always a bit due only leave those who approach it expecting to see a Fender. What they ignore is that we are faced with a real gem of violin, a strato revisits got to Mark Knopfler, in short, a wonder!See less20 - Noise MakerPublished on 05/14/07 at 16:50 (This content has been automatically translated from French)- In which country was it made? => It is in fact that many "Schecter", given the success of the brand, were set up - especially in Europe - from replacement parts. These "kits" - that made these pieces from the success of the brand - and were joined by various makers such as Roger Giffin permitted in GB, Gary Levinson in Switzerland ...
=> The original Schecter - the "golden age" of David Schecter / Tom Anderson, which I think you are referring - do bear mention on the butt that the name "Schecter" - the brand being Schecter Guitar Research, and no "Lead Schecter Guitars".
=> As referred to Knopfler: we hear actually play Schecter for the album "Making Movies" - and this album almost exclusively -. Schecter's "red" in 1980.
=> In 1983, the brand was sold to Texas and the box has been "relocated" in Dallas - virtually no employee / luthier has followed this unfortunate move, this is an important -.
It is easy to check if your model dates from this period "Texas", in fact:
1 What is the serial number? Or rather - not to be indiscreet - where is it located and, also, simply, what "form" is it? (ZZ-XX-XXX-Z or AA-RRR etc.).
2 ° "milhouze" says that these "three Seymour Duncan" This confirms that the time "Texas." The original pickups are Schecter, with the system "taped" and an ultra special stamp.
3 Related: it indicates that the selectors are two positions, as they are for the time and the model that you suspect to 3 positions.
4 Same again for the mechanical "Kluson" ...
Hoping not to disappoint you too - the main thing being that you are fully satisfied with your instrument!
NOTE PROBE:
I rely on the information data "milhouze", and I do not know if they correspondantent well in your model.
Allow me to intervene because I am fortunate to be able to follow in detail the history of the brand, for friendship / for some of the pre-makers cited as being "at the time" super fan Dire Straits, and - finally - in me buying three models, in 1980/1981, including the famous "copy" Strato (yes, ruining, but I have never regretted!).

22 frets, three pickups (one humbrucker and two singles, two potentiometers, one volume and one tone with push to use the dynamic humbrucker. 5 pickup selector positions. It is a very versatile guitar much more than Fender Stratocaster U.S. Standard.
UTILIZATION
The neck is especially nice finish maker requires a little thicker than a standard Stratocaster, perfect for blues or rock. Access to treble is perfect in comparison to my Fender Clapton Signature Stratocaster is something else altogether!
SOUNDS
It is suitable for all styles conditions for taking the time to find the right switch position microphones, play the tone and use the push correctly. It's great in the studio but on stage, it is not always practical.
I play a Fender 100% lamp (Super 112, I recommend also exceptional for its price of 500 Euros in hand)
OVERALL OPINION
I have this guitar since 1994, it does not move a hair, the handle is always the same, the key is not worn, the frets have resisted. Just a fart on the handle of a fall, but nothing nasty. Given his condition, one might even think I'm manic, but not it's solid!
Before buying it, I had to try a hundred guitars (Fender Start and Tele, Gibson SG, Musicman, I was looking for a versatile short a little more rock oriented, but mostly I wanted a very good handle and super own all the records).
Listed price is not cheap ... 15 500 francs at the time, for example a standard Fender Stratocaster was at 5000 francs, so I admit I hesitated a little. Over time I have no regrets, it's a guitar that is kept for life. No changes are needed. on the other hand of attention is massive, so rather heavy!
Just one last point, most young grateux do not know Schecter USA, so get ready to remarks like "you never thought to buy a real guitar ..." or "it's a Chinese or Koreen ?"... What makes good laugh is that these great guitar zeros who say this (and they are many) play on a Fender mexican or a MIJ ... The advantage is that you never tried to steal it!See less21
