The plots of these pickups are bigger than the original ones, like the quarter pound of Seymour Duncan.
The result is a more stout, more rounded. You lose the characteristic of Fender pickups, this peak (the brilliant) in acute (and noise).

Jazz fusion, blues rock and heavy rock is perfect, and it is exploitable in funk.

I like the sound of simple micro fatter.
Besides I love the Rio Grande, I've listened to Tallboy, the Fat bastard ... but hey they are still expensive, on the other hand in this occasion are the ones I would choose over other brands.
