The owner wanted me to pay for the app twice to get cross operating system access and upon asking for a second code and explaining the mobile app problems got offended and gave some serious attitude and had no interest in making it right or helping out. He then asked what the issues were and I briefly described them... not elaborating too much because I was already annoyed at the lack of customer service. This app is outdated and the owner isn't doing a good job dealing with customers. worst software support I've experienced in a long time... or ever for that matter. The issue very easily could have been solved without frustration but Mathieu wanted to argue and act like what I was asking for was ridiculous when all the other music software companies have done exactly what I had asked for free of trouble. Very bummed. been a long time user and have a really sour taste in my mouth now and wont be continuing to recommend to my students. I've over the last decade recommended this software to at least a hundred students many of whom still use it on a daily basis. I've since switched to a couple different other programs that do more and are free of hassle. Soundslice works great and is gonna be one of my alternatives moving forward.

Installation: nothing fancy.
Configuration: as there are plenty of opportunities for different instruments, it takes some time.
Novices editing software will tower above all by using (very full), which includes chapters for the specificities of different instruments, such as keyboard layouts diatonic accordion.
TablEdit little use menus, and no cascading menus. All functions are accessible with the mouse and keyboard shortcuts to accelerate the capture, editing and layout.
Of course, the first tabs are not written in a wink, because we need to find and get used to the specific functions of different instruments (if you are looking for is in helping you find. EVERYTHING is , if, if!)
If you've never written a tablature editor, TablEdit will delight you with its simplicity and speed. And if you're already familiar with another program, you will see that the speed of entry, import and editing is amazing!
One thing to do from the beginning: in the help, print the list of keyboard shortcuts. After some time, we all know those are useful to our instrument.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

I use a PC running Win7, no sign of slowdown or lag.
The import / export, printing in pdf or printer, everything is perfect and fast.
I've never crashes, no data loss.
I mentioned in the beginning of bugs that have been fixed very quickly.

OVERALL OPINION

TablEdit I discovered in 1998, and I participated in its adaptation to the accordion. First rather limited for this instrument, TablEdit has constantly evolved and limitations have disappeared, many other instruments have emerged and are regular updates, bringing their share of new features, as well as instruments.
Note: updates are free ad vitam!
I have not tried other software, at first he was alone in tablature for the diatonic. I mastered it and I like (you guessed it), this is why I think it deserves 10/10.
+ + + I like the quality of the edition (very professional, clear, configurable environment), the entry speed, simplicity (this is the opposite of a gas plant), the low price high and free updates.

This software is well above guitar pro but remains little known.

And yes Communication is the sinew of war in this world of sharks.

Only the smart kids know it exists and it may be better.

Despite a few bugs they remain my favorite software for editing tablature.

In fact we buy once and all updates are free.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it since 1992.

The feature I like most is that quite simply that the rate is displayed by default on the tabs. I never understood that guitar pro was not set up to do when you open the software.

The super value for money is being able to purchase the software once and have all the updates for free.

I realize that all the teachers that I know of guitars he uses are necessarily right.

There were no compatibility issues for me when using Tabledit. I found that the software kept getting easier to use as it was updated. The manual that users download with the program will explain all the finer points, and I doubt that anybody would have any troubleshooting that the manual can't explain. The setup of the program is really a matter of downloading and installing it, and therefore, really isn't that complicated. All the functions of this program are really easily accessible once you learn the shortcuts and get more efficient with it.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

I have not had any problems with the software not working correctly, really the only thing I've noticed with this program is the fact that it's a bit tedious, but that is through no fault of the software. The performances have always been stable and have no slowed down or stalled my computer in any way. I think that I am getting a pretty high quality performance out of this program, it certainly doesn't affect my computer the way Logic, Pro Tools, or even Garage band do.

OVERALL OPINION

I think that this program, unlike the Powertab program, is good because it is far more versatile. First of all, it is not limited to the guitar, which is a highly nice program. This gives other instrumentalists and musicians the ability to use it and write for multiple instruments. In the latest update, the list of instruments that are included in the program are harmonica, mountain dulcimer, diatonic button accordion, drums, violin, tin whistle, recorder, Xaphoon, autoharp, pedal steel guitar, piano, ukulele, and banjo. I haven't used it for most of those instruments, but I do find it great that the piano and harmonica can be represented in a writing program. Another advantage that this program has over Powertab is that you don't need to stick to writing in tablature. That is, you can write the music in notated form and have it translate into tab (which is great for pianists, or other musicians trying to write for guitar who don't really understand tablature for the guitar.) I think that this is a great tool for people who might struggle in some ways with traditional notation software (like Sibelius or Finale). The MIDI sound files sound ok for MIDI, but obviously it's going to be sort of cheesy for most people. However, the practical application of the whole thing is really solid. I don't use this program that much for my purposes, but I'm glad to know that it's here when I need it. Worth checking out for people who need to tab or notate music easily and neatly.
