« we like, but ... »
Published on 09/11/11 at 06:18Tested two nights.
For other CD players tested, see my opinion.
I like the look of madness, finish, ergonomics (orders effects, display ...), the turntable after a little practice (others have already mentioned), the timing of cue corrections pitch and the search titles. I love the buttons "start cue", for me, on this last point, they are the most pleasant of existing Denon (even the 3700 is significantly less well on this style with touches DNS1200 ...) Let me explain : the keys are large, regardless of the point of support, even on a board, it never fails. I find it even better than the round keys Pio ... The sensitivity and orders are running top. The appearance of serious, solid and pro turntables. Reliability, which is to go, I know that run a lot. The purchase price for this very low level range.
Do not rely on first contact can be a bit confusing the device is really a player "in part". It takes a little train and use it in the evening: as soon as it starts to go, we think it's great.
I noted that against the sound quality without being bad (it's really thin but generally the range Denon) is defined below Pioneer (cdj 100 or 200 for example. Although sometimes this kind of opinion may seem controversial, it is the opinion of my ears ... Average also control pitch.
I do not like the slow loading is really embarrassing for a player of this level (we really miss and not properly prepare his sets). Bugs that require reading CDS have really good condition. I mean on new plates, bugs on CDS certainly used but are usually read by the various decks of the other brands ... After, being strict on this point, these plates are for use in pro. In addition it opens the door to creative possibilities so vast, that we must think about when making a purchase.
Unbeatable value for money but after a long hesitation, sold as too bulky for me (to buy 1200). I do not have that choice would do but if I was looking for materials and more efficient than the Sofista 1200, I would turn to the 3700 or Pioneer CDJ 850.
