I had no problems downloading and installing iZotope Vinyl onto my computer. There were no compatibility issues and I have not had to reinstall it or anything since I first installed it. The configuration of the plug-in is easy to follow and very straightforward. There are a ton of different "vinyl" like sounds you can get from this plug-in. As this program is free I don't think there is a manual, or at least I have never seen one.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

I run Vinyl in Pro Tools LE 7.4 with a MacBook Pro. The MacBook Pro has a 2.2 Ghz Intel Core Duo processor and 4 GB of RAM. I run Pro Tools with a Digi 002R for an audio interface. I have never had a problem running this plug-in with this configuration. I have also used Vinyl with Pro Tools HD 7.4 and have not had a problem using it with that configuration either. I have only used this plug-in on one track at a time so I don't know how many you could run at once, but I'm assuming that most out there are probably only going to use this on their master faders.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had iZotope Vinyl for about three years. While I don't use it seriously all that often, when I want something to sound like it was made in an earlier decade, this comes in very handy. Of course, since it is free the price cannot be beat, and for this reason everyone should have this in their arsenal. I don't know of any other plug-ins that do what this plug-in does, especially not any free ones. It is very easy to go right on the iZotope website and download it free! While limited in use to certain situations this plug-in can prove to be very useful and it won't cost you a dime!
