In January, Zoom unveiled its first Thunderbolt audio interface. The brand is announcing at Musikmesse 2014 new TB and USB 3 models.
The TAC series of Thunderbolt audio interfaces will soon be completed with the TAC-4 and TAC-8 models, and Zoom adds to its audio interface/converter range a brand new UAC series with USB 3.0 connection.
Here is what Zoom has to say about these new boxes.
TAC-4:
- 4 analog inputs / mic preamps on XLR/Jack combos and phantom power
- 6 analog outputs
- ADAT input
- S/PDIF input and output
- Thunderbolt in and out to chain up to 6 devices
- Hi-Z switch on channels 1 and 2
- MIDI DIN In and out
- BNC WordClock output
- 2 × 1/4” headphone outputs with dedicated level controls
- Large output level knob
- Gain on each channel
- LED signal/peak meter on each channel
TAC-8:
- 8 analog inputs / mic preamps on XLR/Jack combos and phantom power (inputs 1–4 and 5–8)
- 10 analog outputs
- ADAT input and output
- S/PDIF input and output
- Thunderbolt in and out to chain up to 6 devices
- Hi-Z switch on channels 1 and 2
- MIDI DIN In and out
- BNC WordClock output
- 2 × 1/4” headphone outputs with dedicated level controls
- Large output level knob

UAC-2 :
- 2 analog inputs / mic preamps on XLR/Jack combos and phantom power
- 2 analog outputs
- Hi-Z / line switch
- MIDI DIN In and out
- 1/4” headphone output with dedicated level control

- LED signal/peak meter on each channel
- Direct monitoring switch (mono, stereo, off)
- USB 3.0 port
UAC-4:

- 2 × 1/4” headphone outputs with dedicated level controls
