Published on 04/22/14 at 03:10The Lil 'Deluxe is nothing other than the Princeton Reverb circuit, produced in the early 60's by Fender. A small all-tube combos, and reverberated in trémolisé ideal for studio, measured live sessions, rpeter. 16 kg, a power of 15 watts and a 12-inch speakers (Eminence Patriot) where Fender then sailed a 10-inch. Selected components (resistors, transformers) are first, lamps NOS, a real tour "point to point", welds silver alloy, nickel violin and impeccable finishes .... what else?? Ah yes, a shielded-type power cord and a plug audiophile quality gold-plated connectors, class anyway!
UTILIZATION
An entry Hi & Lo a, volume, treble, bass, reverb, speed, intensity. HP external output (if needed ...), a switch powering three positions (from right to left: Off - Standby - Power On), a footswitch old Fender style reverb and tremolo. In short, the brainchild of Princeton is respected, despite HP 12 dimensions remain the same, only the internal recipe carries all major improvements. It lights ... everything becomes clear. In the manner of a guitar designed with great care is delivered to you perfectly tuned and imposes its playing comfort, this amp is played without thinking about its settings. This is powerful and defined both the volume is progressive, are never low acute invasive and provide air. The reverb and tremolo are properly addictive.
SOUNDS
Back to basics? Completely. We crunch in the last third of the race volume without crushing dynamics and especially without background noise: bluffing. The reverb knob reacts as a mix of wet / dry lorqu'on increments are not only add a long tail metallic reverb with the direct signal, on the contrary, the direct signal is gradually immersed in its reverb . It makes you wonder why all the reverbs are not designed that way. The tremolo is sinusoidal and not angular, you probably imagine. With a little side "wow" way Leslie, the two knobs settings allow all the finer subtleties. No compression of the volume of the latching effect.
The output volume is quite half way taping. Anything goes, single, double, a Plimsoul a Bogner Ecstasy, an AC addition, a delay Mad Professor (slap back) and everything is beautifully restored. Personally, I work my songs in a home studio in a fairly Bluesy register and the real value in my config is that instead of a static to a dynamic combined to capture before my amp, I now stick a 57 positioned in front of the HP and no more, the refund in the mix is sublime.
OVERALL OPINION
The Bonefish amps are manufactured in France by an enthusiast, in a workshop in Normandy. As all these good and beautiful things, patience is a must, the amps are mounted, tested and delivered rhythmically craft. However, they do not have time to take the dust soon they are sold.
I bought mine before it is even finished assembling it I had to be patient but in the end the promise is kept.
