We are dealing with a superb tube amp handmade in US, covered with leather rather sensitive to shock, but with incredible visual quality standards in this range (fender hotrod marshall JCM2000: For info, j 'I already owned these amps)

Thing to know is a 30wRMS of class A / B, but like any tube amp of superior quality, easily covering all the 30w amp transistors proudly announcing 100/150w ... it does not output extra HP, but that of the combo can be replaced by a baffle (1x12, 2x12, 4x12 ...) The absence of additional output has pushed me to do a 9. (info: there has the chubster 55)

As for the settings, switch and other pots, this is where we realize that we are dealing with an amp of luxury. EQ supra-effectiveness, 6 of a knob, it's not 7! :-) And switch type push / pull knobs on the volume, middle and trebble are a treat for those who like their sonnorités find the Fender or Marshall Favorites! ;-)

there is a Parallel effects loop with no adjustable output / input, but particularly neutral and efficiency.

UTILIZATION

In terms of finding its own sound, or that of our idol, there are two views:
-We consider it is his fault his work for a while before finding the desired sound, has the time to use it so difficult to find a lil 7.
-Or it considers that there is no need to spend hours adding a pedal, EQ, compressor, boost pedal, this amp, because Overdrive is sufficient to itself, in this case It is a 10 / 10 guaranteed! ;-) This is my point of view!

The manual is very detailed and useful as strongly the technical characteristics of the amp.

SOUNDS

The key word RIVERA: VERSATILITY! I remain convinced that suit all! The clean is unanimous because of versatility foolproof when the OverDrive has, it is either Fenderienne or Marshallian, it should therefore have 90% of guitarists!

I play a MusicMan Silhouette Special (equivalent to a US FatStrat deluxe) and an Epiphone Les Paul Duncan rise, I play with the amp plugged into a 4x12, and there is terrible! a sound quality and musicality enooOOoorme! I should point out for the clean Jazzeux possesses low on a scale not encountered on a common amplifier.

Channel 1: Marshall

you can have a particularly clean and defined fairly neutral, which I find is for designers to modern sounds packed effects (flange + delay + reverb + trem ...) like to clean metal. But it is obviously in the crunch and we DO get a hit on this channel! Marshall's Vintage (not JCM2000) I had a TSL100 head, and I noted that Rivera combo, much less expensive than the upscale Marshall, sounds more "Marshall" as Marshall! You have been warned! ;-)
The gain boost when the switched proves to perfect for all rock! (Nirvana, darkness and Company!) For the metal is more grain than the gain that will not fit I think, to see. (I'm not very Metal) in any case, once the medium of a knob Zero, there is already enough to make!

Channel 2: Fender

It is for these clean sounds that Rivera is recognized, a number of international artists is often a stack Rivera next to their "saturation machine!" It is clear that clean! one can correctly set, attack like crazy, it does not crunchra! on the other hand if you desire to do crunches, no problemo: Volume 7 a, 2 and a Master zzou! a nice crunch SRVien! but what we often forget that Rivera was about these is that there is also the Fender overdrive! (volume at 10 + boost / Master to 1.5) and it was the sound of Neil Young!! : P

each channel is completely independent, we can have two crunch, distortion 2, or 2 clean etc. ....

OVERALL OPINION

Well, I reserve the 10/10 heads RIVERA RIVERA V30 Speakers on! ;-)

but it's all good this amp! It's been 1 year and a half I have separated and I do more! I had the opportunity to play a bunch of config (Rack, JCM2000, Fender in any genre, JCM800, JCM900, Mesa F etc ...) and I am happy to say that I have the amp I like the most!

The distinct advantage of this amp is that it is a Combo! So portable, easy installation, compact etc ... but I use it as a head that I'm home on my 4x12! Perfect I tell you!

Obviously I would remake the same choice if I had! Then I sold my HotRod deluxe after 2 months and my JCM2000 after ...... ha yes! the next day that I bought it! LoL

Quality / price ratio 10/10!
