Really good for a transistor amp.

USE

Config super simple, easy to find a sound: clear channel 1 and channel 2 crunch crunch big enough saturation, we can already make the big rock.
the sound is a bit serious when qua is in the middle, but the treble can be increased without worries.
Manual in English but not really necessary.

SONORITS

I have / play it with a sword Ibanez, a telecaster and SG, rather diffrentes guitar made and does it well! It reflette well the sound of each guitar.
Like effects, I use a boss me 50 or pedals (Boss sd1, EH Small Stone) and it's very well his level
I think the Celestion Vintage 30 are for much of the string sound.

NOTICE GLOBAL

I use it for 10 years, I love the sound of this amp for a transistor amp is good, compar a Marshall Valvestate of the same era, the twin supertramp is significantly better (again I think of v30). I would do this choice without hsiter if I had to buy a transistor amp but now I do not know if he ever do and I have not tried the version with Pramp lamp (it not n'tait exit when I bought.

100-watt hybrid amp (mosfet preamp stage with one ECC83 tube).

Good-quality components except for the jacks, if used intensively. The amp is quite heavy and the only top handle doesn't make transport any easier.

UTILIZATION

Simple configuration with passive EQ settings. The overall output volume is easy to manage with the master and the boost. The lack of a numbered scale around the controls makes memorizing the settings harder.

The user's manual is very short but not really necessary.

The footswitch provided is a bit too small.

SOUNDS

The clean channel sounds quite dry. Don't expect to get a fender-like, crystal-clear sound. It sounds rather British with a strong character. It's very nice for blues and rock. With the volume knob at three quarters of the way you start to get some crunch, but the master level allows you to do it without getting deaf.

The lead channel is THE main asset of this amp. The sound is extremely dynamic, the dual switchable gain stages and the volume control allow you to switch between slight overdrive and heavy distortion. The distortion is not made for heavy metal but rather for a fat 70's sound. I love it and this channel alone is worth the amp.

OVERALL OPINION

I've been using for almost 10 years. I love its very dynamic lead channel. The clean channel is not so good and it could sound nicer.

I tested a Fender Roc Pro, which had a better clean sound but its distortion sound was too dry. I also tried out a Marshall Valvestate, which had a less natural sound.

The value for money is good if you buy it new and excellent if you buy it secondhand.
