Value For Money : Excellent
50W all-tube amp
- An effects loop (with potentiometer to adjust the level of the loop).
- A footswitch.
- 1 Output Slave.
- 2 outputs 4 Ohm.
- 1 8 Ohm output.

2 channels (stated in ascending order saturation term)
- 1: clean and pushed - assigned on 6 knobs (master, presence, bass, mid, treble, gain).
- 2nd: raw, vintage, modern - assigned on 6 knobs (master, presence, bass, mid, treble, gain).

There is also the mode "solo" which is active and footswitch allows a surplus volume.

A knob "volume" General which enables him to turn up the volume of all channels at once. Attention! So there are 2 knobs for volume "master" and "volume". The first plays on the volume at the preamp and before the effects loop (note the saturation of your belongings) and the second in turn acts on the power stage, there can be no worries push carefree !

On the aesthetic level with its front plate construction is daring but damn pest look like, plus it is made in the USA we enter the great courses there.

The quality side, everything is good, beefy knob are they are not moving when I type a password between the feather duster to dust. This is not to say that it is robust value for money.

UTILIZATION

I for my part, not managed to get the manual, I did not when I purchased (secondhand), I would have perhaps helped to history and master volume cited above.

Otherwise, the configuration is simple treble settings, mid, and bass are not bad, but I must say that the medium are hard to dig, so I fitted a parametric equalizer (dbx 131), the knob of "presence" is like the tone knob on a guitar ... for my taste. So yes as I said attention to the "master" and your effects loop, indeed it can saturate your belongings (loupiottes equipment rack that become red instead of green ...), you can still play the knob located behind the amp to reduce the power fed into the loop, but the concern is that the intensity of your belongings will also be reduced.

So at first you have to play on the right compromise between master and volume (it took me two months to understand because I do not play often on a large volume).

I return to this famous effects loop, how it handles? well just what is very limited:
- It is assigned all the time, you can not remove it, so that it can be done must be set to 0% the knob located behind (the famous knob behind assigned to the intensity of the loop) .
- Not switched on / off by footswitch, I think it would not have been able to benefit from the luxury of knowing that this option on models higher (dual, triple, ... RK) they manage to make things much more crazy and complete.

Footswitch to switch there are 2 "channel 1 <=> 2 channel" and "solo / not solo." It is far from large pallets models above.

SOUNDS

First of all I said that my style of play is oriented metal (bah oh gosh), and I have a M1000 LTD (EMG 81 N / B) and a Fender Highway (USA strat first prize). I have a cabinet in 2 * 12 series Rectifier, I preferred to use the same set because I saw a lot of criticism as what the combo Mesa / Marshall it was blah and price level for a 2 * 12 duplex was 4 * 12 marshall, I advise you not to rush to solutions less.

Clean / pushed: Well, it is quite right as its especially with EMG 81 active one is closer to Metallica clean but personally with this guitar for cleans it is either the intermediate position or position to handle and there is something drinkable, but with a fender that becomes more than drinking, but I personally am not a fan of the small saturation I like the sound clean. If I play clean it is only with the Fender.

Raw / Vintage / Modern: The first two I could not describe anything at all, I only use the clean channel and the modern, I did not take this amp for anything else. So the HIGH GAIN! Here it is the reason for the correction is born and why I bought it. Grain Mesa addict I am, that famous roar that sends paté is vraiement foot, attention to the volume of this mode, which is stronger than all the others. With EMG 81 to find my sound I had to buy an equalizer to dig mediums and have a sound a little more "smooth", without the equalizer I can also say that the sound is very powerful on the palm mute, a pure delight for rhythmic metalleuses. The gain knob I put in position 14h, why? because when you put about a more than 15 hours you lose attack and / or brightness of the palm mute in particular.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 2 months of intensive (2h daily), it meets my needs exactly: a clean, clean and high gain, nothing else matters to me. I only play at home, this configuration 50W is more than enough or too much (though I live in the country), if you are in an apartment right now and remember it is better to postpone the mini Correct if it will invest in an attenuator (NOS dbkiller MK2 150, which connects between the head and cabinet, for example).

If I would do this choice? for the same budget and the same use, perhaps. In terms of ergonomics I would have preferred a mini (low power), but the sound on the single has more body. To date, the mini is even more expensive than in the single secondhand.

If not on stage I guess the galley with the effects loop. The only negative point that I take from this amp.

Dreams at a price ... salty.
