UTILIZATION

It is very easy to get a good sound out of this amp. The cleans are very present and transparent, and the dirties have just the right amount of fur on them. Dialing in "the sound" takes a bit longer, as the controls are all extremely interactive - moving the mid a few degrees in one direction, for example, changes how the treble interacts.

Manual is non-existent, literally - I asked PRS about it, and they said none was ever printed, but that they would put one online eventually. I decided to email Doug Sewell (the amp's designer) directly, and he responded right away with some recommended settings.

SOUNDS

This amp can get anything from clean Chet Atkins to firebreathing Metallica. The 2 channels sound great in their respective areas - clean is great with clean, dirty is great with dirty, but either channel can run either type of sound. If I dial in a dirty tone on the clean channel, it sounds grittier, yet not as gainy - nice smooth overdrive sound. And dialing in a clean sound on the dirty channel provided an interesting "roundness" to each note.

The reverb is divine, and the effects loop was very transparent as well.

OVERALL OPINION

I like this amp. It seems very durable, and the fact that the amp's designer would take time out to email me was a plus. The sound quality is great - I don't know what more anyone would want! About the only things this amp couldn't feasibly do is death metal or "djent", but I'm sure with enough tweaking, that would be in the realm of possibility.

I think it could use a few adjustments - namely a manual! Also, footswitchable effects loop on/off would be a nice bonus. I think overall, the amp is a nice entry into the USA-made boutique market.
