Well I see that there is not an opinion on the beast then I glue myself!
- Tube preamp
- 3 channels
- MIDI
- 2 parallel loop with stereo return, a series
- An insert for an external preamp (which is what interested me)
- Headphone Jack
- Output speaker simulator
- Ability to connect to a PC but the format of the decision is quite old ...

Buttons everywhere ... It is very 90's. nice!
It lacks nothing, really full.

UTILIZATION

Very easy to use: one branch, it makes its settings by fiddling the switches and go!
Small problem: the EQ setting from 0 to 128. that's a lot! when left button is pressed to change the value, it's going too fast so it can be annoying if you're 10 and want to go to 50 soon ..
This gives clear sounds of good quality easily. For cons, I slaved for a saturated sound like death metal ... in fact not hesitate to push the EQ: bass and treble and high midrange to 0. There remains a lot of medium in the sound and turning on the switch midboost, the sound is really huge.

I tried it because I wanted to put another preamp in the loop to expand the sound. Unfortunately, there is a pretty terrible loss of momentum in this case (when using the preamp in the loop).

SOUNDS

I've mostly metal.
I tested a few hours with Jackson US-2 with HS and HS-6, a Classic Poweramp 50/50 and Peavey 412m.
The light is not great ... it is surely baffle rather "stiff". It is not bad but not great either. He approaches the home clean Peavey.
I have not dwelt on the crunches. Let's say it sounds good and nuances of the game are transcribed.
Sounds satéurés: not obvious a priori rules, it is better from a preset that sounds a bit already. They are really great. Although thick, hot ... precise, it drools a little but not too ...
We can blame him for not having an original grain.

OVERALL OPINION

Of course, I have not tested enough for the beast that I think is super reliable, but honestly, it's a good preamp in the line of Piranha, Tubefex, Ada mp1, Voodu valve ...
I've tested / owned: Piranha, tubefex, recto recording preamp, Peavey 5150, Krank Revolution ...
What I love: the complete connection, boosted channel
What I dislike: the loss of momentum that makes it unusable (presque. ..) the fact to insert a preamp, the lack of personality, the setting mode (with buttons) not very pleasant to use for EQ, it's two units, it is unfortunate but given the connection, it must fit somewhere ...

Try it if you find a preamp to the metal. it's really the equivalent of the preamp which I quoted at sound quality (Tubefex, Piranha, Ada mp1 ...).
