« Lamp, heat ... in bulk! »
Published on 06/30/14 at 00:45Preamp tube (x12) 3U Rackmount
UTILIZATION
Gain, PAD, Phase, and 48V output for preamp vloume
SOUND QUALITY
The preamp provides color, and fortunately, this is what is wanted!
OVERALL OPINION
This is a DIY project with Berl (AF members cf).
This is a 6-channel preamp tube with mount push-pull amplification.
The basis of reflection was the Gyraf G9 which is a 2-way initially, it was therefore modified and even improved!
The choice of lamps and input-output transformers takes precedence over sound quality, and changed at will (since it is the DIY).
The rendering is amazing quality, good headroom, a very advanced design on the place of components to optimize the path of the sound signal, Berl experience has been a great help.
I did the design of the facade, and it is a pleasure to use a machine design to her taste
In use, the preamp is super stable, the lamp technology coupled with modern supply (switching) is a success. Sessions several days with 6 channels simultaneously ... nothing flinch!
To conclude: Upscale hands for 6 microphones.
