« Preamp race »
Published on 10/15/14 at 08:126 channel preamp tube DIY.
Modular construction in Europe 3U rack, each channel being removable.
Max gain of 60dB, -24 dB pad.
Phase, Pad and Phantom front, rotator gain potentiometer output level.
Connectors I / O XLR.
Addition of a possible tool jack.
UTILIZATION
As indicated above: phase, and Pad Phantom top front, below rotator gain potentiometer output level of the bottom panel.
Nothing is easier to use.
SOUND QUALITY
It is a tube preamp, input and output transformer, so it colors the sound and that's the goal.
It has a vibrant, incredible punch,
The amplification tubes gives a nice pleasant saturation when rubs its limits.
Bandwidth is mitigated gently in the grave below 50Hz but there is still signal 5Hz!
OVERALL OPINION
I finished the building in January 2014.
This is a project with Eynkel project, and without him I probably would not finish!
How satisfying to use, for recording or live ... and without any glitches.
Changing the diet to modern technology (cutting) with excellent results, notament in terms of dynamics.
Compared with a kit, the advantage is we know it on the fingertips. I think I have well optimized circuit compared to G9 2 channels, but it was not difficult.
