I bought DLS5000 FTEs in 1986, it was my first turntables.
I used it for almost 4 years anyway (because at the time I could not afford to buy me something else), and believe me, it was necessary courage to use these devices is ...
Let me explain:

Here are the spots of the plate.
- Thurs important in the arm
- Adjust the arm very imprecise
- The arm of the disc jumps at the slightest vibration
- Pitch catastrophic (+4 -2 on a plate and the other to stabilize the small points of the plateau facing the stroboscope).

Pros:
- Appearance of Technics SL1200 quite nice.

The quality / price ratio is non-existent. In fact, this concept does not apply to this material more economically. They are useful only for small kids who want to get into the exciting world of DJ and who can not afford anything else.
And again! To these youngsters, I am tempted to say: "Stay in and make the work a little longer on your savings account. Just time to have the means to buy something more serious."
But luckily for you, these decks are no longer. But beware, there are others who are not much better and they are still marketed.

what I love most: nothing, it simply his job to read discs! If there is also the aspect mk2 go anywhere ... They are pretty solid.

what I like least: the rotten finish (plastic), the engine performs poorly, this ultra purring as soon as it is too low, the inability to adjust the arm height ...

I had bought 100 euros in cash converter at the time, and I think it's a good price. However, at Darty for example, it is sold 199 euros today (yes, I swear, it is still selling at darty !!!!): it is an incredible price for so little quality! Avoid it at that price!

I think with the experience, I would wait a while for my double bonanza (2 * 100) and take me an old Technics SL1200 in a very average ... After, if you just need to practice a platinum disc to play at home and you can have this dsl5000 FTE used for 30/50 euros then go ahead ...

ATTENTION: the practice of the mix and scratch requires extraordinary skill on this type of gear! Prop your mixes with it and it will be the cake with another platinum more efficient ...
