Technics 1200M5G is The Highest Quality Turntable / DJ Tool Out There

    Technics SL-1200 M5GPublished on 04/17/15 at 16:14
Solidly built these great turntables should last you a lifetime without any problems. They are built like tanks (heavy as a tank too only problem but it too has a function) The torque on The 1200 M5G is slightly stronger than it's lesser counterparts the 1200-MK5, The 1200 MK3 and The classic 1200 MK2. The added ability to change from +-8 to +-16 makes this turntable much more versatile as well, something that should have been introduced long before this flagship turntable came out in my opinion. The price is it's only drawback as the price has gone up since they no longer manufacture these amazing turntables anymore. Supply and demand I guess. None of the DJ controllers on the market including the Pioneer CDJs or Ns7 even come close to the ease of control offered by this traditional DJ tool. Part of it is the size of a 12" platter vs a smaller plastic device that feels like it's a toy made for children. There's a reason Technics remained King of the turntables from the 70's all the way til today. And why even today many DJs still prefer the wheels of steel over the wheels of plastic. I don't mind mixing on controllers for more casual events but personal preference has these puppies listed on my Performance Rider as the weapon of choice for any major performances and events.
