Value For Money :
Excellent
- What characteristics have motivated your choice?
The number of I / O and opportunities associated with a reasonable price.
- For what purpose?
Demo recording to my group
- What is your config (Motherboard / CPU / Ram / Hard ,...)?
Pentium 4, 1GB Ram, 40 GB HDD, USB2.
- Which instruments and systems (console, preamp, DTD ...) you use it and how connections? ...
Record the output of the mixer Yamaha 16 / 4 entries in the Line of BCA. The outputs of the BCA are used for monitoring, recording is done on the PC via the USB port.
UTILIZATION
- The installation is done it without problems?
Yes, no problem. We must carefully follow the manual as often with a USB port (Plug the beast at the right time)
- Have you experienced any incompatibilities?
No.
- The general configuration is easy?
Yes unless the routing is quite complex, but for now I did not need to dig this
- The manual is clear and sufficient? ...
Clearly, yes (except for routing), enough, no. It was the bare minimum, so you must handle and try to master the beast.
GETTING STARTED
- The drivers are stable?
Yes but after reading the reviews, I updated the drivers before using the beast
- Are they often updated?
I do not know because right now everything is working properly, computer the best is the enemy of the good when it works So you touch it!
- What software do you use most often?
Cakewalk
- What you get lag?
20 ms but I also use a Hercules sound card so it may degrade the perf?
- How many tracks you get to record / play time? ...
Recording: 4, 2 analog + 2 BCA 2000 card Hercules
Read: 8, not tried more.
OVERALL OPINION
- How long have you use it?
1 year
- What is so special that you like most and least?
The control panel is very comprehensive, no need to go through a complex computer interface, we have buttons and pots for almost all functions.
For the less, the routing of signals is quite complex via the buttons on the famous facade. Maybe a GUI on the PC would have simplified understanding?
The BCA2000 is quite bulky and the plastic housing is a little cheap but good considering the price ...
- Have you tried many other models before buying it?
No, nothing like it.
- How would you rate the quality / price?
Excellent, as usual with this brand
- With experience, you do again this choice? ...
Yes definitely. If I change it will be to have some tracks coming into more
