Not very classy and rather dangerous.
I have a motu 828, an HD192 and it happens also to connect directly to the fostex 0.4 sound output of an Imac and I have never had such worries. Why not put the relays on the outputs sounds in this case??

GETTING STARTED
The most annoying is the pitiful quality of the converters.
During a session or there was a symphony orchestra, I'm really realized.
XY pair "house" CCM4 Schoeps MK4 for two soloists (cello and violin) and three booster winds MKH50 Sennheiser. All in a Aaton Cantar 8-track.
The Mbox was used to record the output of the couple's safe if planted cantar.
Listening to headphones (HD25), we just had the impression that this was not the same sound recording ...
Stamp, reverb, everything was nazilard. Normal, you might say, considering the quality of cantar ...
But the worst is that I have compared it with my "sleep" motu 828 (the first) and it is sadly the same conclusion.
OVERALL OPINION
Pro tools is a good software, but others have really progressed. I think Digital Performer, Samplitude, Cakewalk.
That last walk without a map and thus with the owner of his choice. (DP allows multiple sound cards simultaneously and different brands ...).
Sell one thing at that price is theft, as the quality of the plug (but that's another topic ...).
When you think that for the same price you can get the Apogee (duet) with 70db of gain by micro and firewire ...
