Value For Money :
Excellent
The Toneport UX1 I was immediately over. Since I play the bass guitar and I sing from time to time, that's exactly what I needed.
I used to record my compositions, and I use a Dell Studio 15 Laptop (3GB RAM, 250GB HDD)
UTILIZATION
Installation could not be simpler and faster. All goes well, if you follow the instructions. I had no problem on that side.
I have not met any inconsistencies.
GETTING STARTED
The software is j'utilisent Gearbox and Reaper (for recording).
Gearbox Software is provided with the Toneport, the interface is simple and easy, and the amp models it offers are numerous and of good quality.
It is possible to achieve zero latency quasimment, but I do not recommend it because it causes cracking which may shift all of your recording.
So I prefer to set the latency up to get a quality recording, without cuts. (Apparently, this problem is common with the Toneport ...)
I can record a track at a time, and it suits me well.
With Reaper, it seems that the number of tracks that I can read simultaneously is infinite!
I do not use Ableton Live Lite (recording software included with the UX1), because I find the possibilities relatively small (4 tracks max), and the interface more complicated than Reaper.
So I dropped the software, which did not really attractive ...
OVERALL OPINION
I bought my Line 6 Toneport UX1 last December, so I'm using it for 3 / 4 months and I am delighted. It allows us to put in all that new music Spasse by the head, quickly and easily.
For me, the positives are:
-The ease of use
-The variety of simulations proposed by Gearbox
-The final rendering of the compositions, reminiscent of home studio recordings pro (if one takes so much ^ ^)
-PRICE! The TonePort is really a gold mine => quality / price ratio hardly beatable
Cons:
-The plastic case provides a rather "cheap", and is quite cumbersome. (But hey, it's a matter of taste)
-Ableton Live Lite disappointed me. what can be done with really small, and the interface could be simpler.
I had not tried other models before purchasing the Toneport UX1, but I do not regret my purchase.
I relied on advice I read, and video demo ... and I was blown away by the possibilities it offers.
YES, I would do this choice! and I recommend it to anyone looking to record high quality components, without breaking the bank.
