Available only for remunerated job offersI am an Electronics Engineer with a passion for music. As a musician, I have played and programmed many digital and analogue synthesisers, since beginning on a Yamaha DX7 in 1983. I did play in a rock-boogie-blues cover-band in the late '80s, but now I play baroque harpsichord & honky-tonk piano for fun, and record neo-classical prog because I can't help it. My home studio is based around ProTools and MOTU Digital Performer. My main toys are Korg Z1, Yamaha TX-802, NI Kontakt, Oberheim Xpander, Roland JX8P, EMU proteus and Kawai K5m. I also have a 19-tone guitar and 19-tone bass for any guitarist victims I can coax into the studio.
My wife, Bee, wanted to live and work in the outback. The only way that could happen was to quit my career in Electronics Hardware Design (specialising in Analogue and Digital Signal Processing, FPGA utilisation, and RF systems) and leave the Big Smoke. She offered to be the bread-winner so I could stay home and finish the album that I have been chipping away at all these years. (I would like to point out that Borodin was a Chemical Engineer who took six years to compose his classic work.)
My brain is super agile but my fingers are slow: I can sight-read electronic schematic diagrams, but it takes me months of practice to play my neo-classical prog arrangements well enough to record. I got around this by creating the Note Toucher BTH1, which merges ones heart and soul with their sequencer.
