Hello, my name is Emil (37) from the Netherlands. I live in haarlem. I am an audiophiliac (how do you call it?) I like to listen good quality audio. This doesn't mean expensive. My vieuw is basic. The room and settings are even as important as the speakers and cables and receiver and so on. Everything is important.

I can refoam a woofer, or clean a CD player, and that's it. But i know how to equip myself for optimal acoustic pleasure. I've had a lot of speakers. Tannoy Mercury/ J30/F1, Jbl AEX 30/ Ti-200, B&W Matrix 3,2,, Jamo J-73, Wharfedale Mach 3/ Diamond 5, Duson 2202, Magnat mig Ribbon 2.

I'm not the type of guy whom spent €200.- on a cable! I think that's very sick and stupid. It is like a religion and people are become to believe the most stupid things. Like everywhere there is a market of interest, you have to be watchfull. One can spent a fortune on speakers, and have a marble floor. Or one can buy a second hand pair of speakers of about 100 euro's and put a decent carpet on the ground and buy furniture like fabric sofa wich can absorb vibrations.

i have a friend, very stubborn. He buys on my advise speakers, and whatsoever he buys, it all sounds bad. This is because of his livingroom decor. Then we move the speakers to my place.. and his mouth falls wide open, and he doesn't speak to me ;)
