Bassam has played guitar for over ten years across three continents. He started taking lessons at the age of 11, played his first concert that same year, and was teaching by the age of 16.

Bassam studied classical guitar under acclaimed Lebanese flamenco guitarist Micheal Jureidini, contemporary electric guitar under virtuoso Roby Eid, and music theory under British session saxophonist Jeremy Chapman. He plays a wide array of musical styles including rock, blues, jazz, metal, experimental, classical, and world.

Bassam has shared the stage with internationally acclaimed names such as Ralf Scheepers, Tony Choy, Chris Baker, Kelly Shaefer, Paul Kuhr, and Nils Rue. He can be found playing at local twin cities venues such as The Cabooze, Station 4, and The Rock, or overseas in Lebanon playing the National Music Hall or the American Embass
