Image Line has released SliceX as a VST plugin.
Until now, SliceX was exclusively available as a Fruity Loops Studio plugin—a version that is not only still available but was also upgraded to 8.0.2 version.
According to Image Line, Slicex uses advanced beat detection algorithms to slice song/percussion samples into pieces and make them independently playable from the Piano roll or controller. If the wave file contains slice/region data this will be automatically used instead of the beat-detection algorithm. Slicex offers playback, reordering of slices and time-stretching capabilities optimized for drum loops.
SliceX is now available for $79.00 as a special time-limited offer, while the usual price is $99.00. As of right now, only the Fruity Loops and VST for PC versions are available, but standalone and Mac versions are also planned for a later (unspecified) release date.
