Indeed, this plugin is not considr Update but as a new instrument. VSL therefore propose to buy a second time all the samples of which I am already legally rfrenc user to use their update of the "Performance Tool" (for the anecdote to b nficier a rduction, I need to buy more extended with new samples).
Icing on the cake, I learn that the pack sees Solo Strings were lowered usual price (I bought at full price there a few months ...)

NOTICE GLOBAL

VSL seemed a society "honest and srieuse." But the demon of the business quickly took over ...
We knew already the companies who offer each year pay updates for minor changes, VSL is stronger and wants to turn the buyers who made their confidence, "cow milk". This is scandalous because it comes right here to sell us the same samples twice !!!
Feel like I think it should not make us have, and VSL show that we are not fooled by not buying these new versions.

A word to salvation!

VSL Vienna Instruments is compatible with mac and with pc. I didn’t know this at first, I bought it for my macbook and then after reading the manual that came with and and saw where it was compatible with both, so that was a big plus because now I can have it on all of my systems. This vst is really all about the orchestral sounds, that is what it is for and what it Excel’s in. But not all of the orchestral sounds are good, some of them just arent realistic to me. But there are definitely many more that are good, than there are that arent good. So if you are in nned of a good orchestral vst this could be good for you.


SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

It was a rather big plug in , but it still didn’t take that long to load and it runs awesome on my mac and all of my pc machines. No matter what sort of system I have it running on it works great, and you can run it multiple times in the same session without it affecting your systems performance as long as you have a good amount of cpu available.


OVERALL OPINION

The thing that I like the best about it, is you get a lot of orchestral sounds and you get them at a good reasonable price. You will love the sounds and the price tag on VSL Vienna Instruments orchestral plug in. It will also work with all of your major sequencing programs and daws that are on the market today. Even though this software came out a while ago, it still works great on newer systems. I have it loaded on so many different machines and it works great all the time. I hope they come out with a newer version of it though soon. It would be nice to have an upgrade.

I purchased the Vienna Special Edition, and everything sounds great! These samples are the industry standard for good reason. Unfortunately, if you really want a variety of articulations (such as ponticello tremolo), you'll need to buy the extended library. This doubles the cost. Also be prepared for a bit of a learning curve, not to mention a ton of re-mixing if you already had your arrangement almost finished using a sample library other than the VI. Still, you've got to take the plunge if you need really tasty orchestra samples. You won't be disappointed, but it may take a little while (initially) to have it sounding the way you want

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Vienna Special edition it's amazing for it's price, I have some others libraries for scoring films, but with Vienna I have way more possibilities when it comes to phrasing and expression, plus it takes me less time to give the perfect organic touch to my film scores, it sounds just great. I love it! You will love it too, because when it comes to using vst’s in todays market there are literally a ton of different vst’s. Vienna is one that you will be able to use in almost all genre’s of music. They also update the program several times a year so you can download the upgrade and fixes for free. I ran this on my macbook and it worked perfectly . I am not too sure about pc’s though, but it will probably work fine. You can call them at any time if you have any questions they have a great customer support line.


OVERALL OPINION

This sample library is truly amazing. The level of realism that is possible for this price is truly astounding. I highly recommend this library. To really get the most out of it though, you'll have to work a little on your mix, in particular, your dry instrument tracks to reverb ratios. Once you get it right, though, it can have amazingly life-like outcomes

YES ... it happens even if the ASEZ protections require the procedure to proceed with rigor.
It works very well with my Mackie ONYX but not at all with my other card Asio (Hoontech). Also, I have not been able to order it via a small MIDI keyboard (an edirol USB) when it works perfectly with my keyboard ... A70 I talked with support and they still have a headache but I'm still waiting an explanation that is not forthcoming.
The manual is clear ... since there is virtually nothing in it. But it is useless. The GUI software is clear.

I have a PC Dual Core 3GHz and 2GB of RAM with hard drives that go (not skimp with the VSL!)
There are still occasional instabilities. The real problem is especially the loading time is really too long. I have several banks (all Strings, Brass, Solo Strings, Woodwinds and Saxo) and it easily takes over a minute ... What is today more lives!
Another problem is when you do a scan of VST plug-ins on his PC, when it comes to VSL, he launched the software ... and suddenly the scans (which I have with my sequencer) are also very long and sometimes crash.
The sound quality is second to none (I Peter S. Garritan and other. ... It has nothing to do)

OVERALL OPINION

I use the VSL and VI for about 4 years and I am very happy with the sound quality (I have the sax achter ... it's fabulous). I did try a professional violinist, he was baba! but I would still have any comments:
- Pricing: When I switched to go from the range "horizon" to the Vienna instruments, they did not even one euro discount (although they are the same samples is limited ... honest!). there is no political loyalty.
- Charging time: they should review their system .. far too long.
- Keyswitch: it is always making head to find them. It would be nice that the software displays them in a more readable and they are great to have before my eyes playing (if the screen is in front of course). it would be very well that Vienna offers a hardware order for its virtual instrument dedicated to the commands needed to manipulate the sound bank and I think that all customers would VSL equipment (provided it is of a reasonable price).
