SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
RAS. The software takes very few resources. It is completely stable. My machine is relatively new but I think even on small configurations it moves smoothly. A bit like a freeware that slides into its plugin folder.
OVERALL OPINION
I think this plugin has been done on SynthEdit. I find it impressive. The ME80 has a very strong noise footprint that makes me say that it is a success even though I never tested the truth. It's rare enough to be reported. It does not sound big, not in tune with the times, he sounds the most faithful is that it emulates.
I love this idea of people who work together to deliver a product which, if not suitable for a general audience, is the delight of enthusiasts. I always liked the grain of CS80, this side weeping, wailing, a little melancholy. There is no extravagance in this synthesizer or too many complexities, it goes to basics in terms of sound (unlike Absynth for example). I think it's a good thing. Too many choices may affect the immediacy of creation, the snapshot. So we find these characteristics in the audio plugin that is for me to this point of view a real inspiration.
So we like it or not love, it's a bit what makes the legend of these machines and has been that of CS80; sound characterized, an architecture necessarily limited but it offers everything you need to let him express his ethereal songs. If you CS80 has enchanted the past you will not be disappointed with the ME80. This company is very successful resurrection.
The editor had the good idea to add a reverb rather convenient. It's always moving to see the heavenly side when he takes the CS80 glue that effect. Much reverb is really necessary for the synthesizer. Vangelis and Lexicon will not say otherwise.
Congratulations to the team of designers, thank you Ostrovitch a contributor. I urge you to try the demo available on the site.
