UTILIZATION

Super simple. The big advantage is the internal preamp, which you can branch the live vocal microphone or instrument pedal.

SOUND QUALITY

I used it with a tenor sax.

The octaver is in serious, less in acute or synthetic ridiculous it sounds live. The Detuner is nice, great for making tablecloths is a little different from a chorus, you can do the test with a vst plugin.

Others are useless from my point of view for a sax (but some effects are generally effective for a sax).

OVERALL OPINION

This is a pedal to start in effects. It is very simple and convenient but limited. The preamp is not a mind-blowing quality but if you have a cell or a microphone that is entry level it is fine.

Another negative: there is always a delay between the note played and effect. Even if you download the preset is telling 0ms delay.

Certainly it is a few tens of milliseconds, but this is already too long to play rhythmic phrases or peaches. I say this because it is important, often on sax like effects to gain power, as if it were a paper clip or an electric guitar, then it will not be possible.

In short it will be perfect for making tablecloths, intros, long tones, but for funk or rock forget.

I tried a lot of effects on sax but little speech processors. Since I sold that there are lots of new things out, not sure at the moment with this budget I will take it.

The Tone D1 by TC Helicon is a detune pedal that is very easy to use. It will allow you to have complete control over your vocals at the push of a pedal. You can do some really cool stuff with this pedal if you learn to use it correctly. This is the perfect way to get studio style doubling effects to your live performances.

UTILIZATION

It is very easy to use, you can plug your microphone directly into this pedal (it does have a built in preamp) and then start messing with knobs and watch what it does to your sound. We even use this in the studio because it can do some doubling that we cannot recreate in a real session and if you get creative with it you will do some amazing stuff with your voice.

SOUND QUALITY

The preamp is quiet and there are no problems when plugging your microphone into it. This unit is made to last a long time because it is made out of metal and underneath of it, it has rubber so it does not slide when using it on a hard surface. Like most of TC Helicons pedals you can plug it into your computer for support or for updates from them.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall this is a great doubling and detune effects pedal. It is very affordable and for anyone who is a live performer you almost have to have pedals like these added to your set up so you can get the sound you want on stage. This is a great value for the price and I am happy that I purchased it. We will be using it for many years to come and we have no worries of it ever not working for us because after using it just for a few weeks now we can tell it will hold up just fine. It is made for the road!

UTILIZATION

-I watched videos on youtube like most people before buying the D1, and therefore a big lie!

-I find myself with an almost robotic voice almost dry by putting at least if we do the dance that perhaps but this is really ugly! I feel I made myself completely rolled!

Furthermore, the machine-voice samples for the increase, but unfortunately, it hurts the calculation so you find yourself singing out of tune and fully lined, super!

Basically, to imitate the sound of the pedal, bought a stupid chorus it will cost cheaper and you get the same kind of effect!

-Maybe there is a possibility of any editing on the computer (pitch variation, delay etc.) then maybe this pedal can be interesting but I do not think it is possible ...

I feel myself just rolled!!
This is a nice pedal if you make the dance but forget it for rock, it's really in bad taste.
It is wrong to sing by sampling, it is not realistic ... Buy cheapest chorus, it will return the same.
on the other hand, if everything really is fully editable via mac / pc, the pedal may become interesting because the factory presets are ugly ...

Doubler pedal voice had its effect if it does not expect anything from it.
Editable by PC via USB.
XLR input and output, a gain setting and a few buttons.
Its format allows it to slip it into a pedalboard with no worries.

SOUND QUALITY

We have several presets on the pedal, it can act only on the mix wet / dry.
In my case, I wanted a splitter for enriching my choirs and when I happen to be the lead, it is useful to me also to give a special side to my voice on some songs I like.
For Choir is excellent! I use the preset "loose", it works well with "detune" too.
I tried the other presets that do not suit me to use that I did but I found them very good.
I use it in combination with the T1 of the same brand (which I think is essential) for an excellent result.

OVERALL OPINION

I have a few months, used about thirty times on a variety of live sound system (500 to 10000W) and it's great every time.
Low prices, high quality, efficient, no complaints, and for those who have acute programmite like me, fine.
Namely that you buy a pedal for a unique effect, so we like it or not, but for what it does, it does very well.
