It is therefore a transmitter / receiver wireless guitar (bass?) IDM.

Specifications:
The receiver (BLX4):
- (+ / -) Lightweight (plastic)
- (-) Not intended to be rack. I tinker a bit, but now it seems impossible to me whatsoever provided, and the fact that it is plastic does not help
- Front: 2 buttons to select the channel and power button ... I do not dwell on these points. There is also the channel indicator and an indicator of connection.
- Behind: a 12-15 DV / 160mA
- (+) A small hook to hold the cable to power supply "just in case" ... my time always useful
- (+) 1 XLR (200 Ohm /-27dBV)
- (+) 1 asks Jack 1/4'' Mono (50Ohm /-13dBV)
- (+) There is no antenna receiver side. This is something gained at the facility. (I especially annoying habit of misplacing my antennae actually ...)

The transmitter (BLX1)
- (+) Battery operated (2 * AA) and not battery. It perhaps seems less practical, high quality, but we do not have the problem of battery wear. With an outfit> 10am, there just put new batteries in the beginning of the concert and you're good
- Inside: The 2 buttons trimmings channel
- (+ +) Inside: a gain knob. I set mine at 9.30 for an equivalent gain my jack. (See below test)
- A button On / off
- (-)-One Mini XLR 4-pin to connect with the guitar. The cable is supplied with the pack, but you've got to be there the greatest care, because a new cable costs around € 30.

Sound:
Rather than tell you that I was amazed by the sound quality (Besides, I told you, I was amazed by the quality of the sound), I made a comparative test Jack (Planet Waves) / BLX. This way you will make your idea yourself ...
2 files match the same guitar jack (connected directly to an instrument input of the RME Fireface.
The guitar signal is returned to the same inputs 3 and 4 of the same card.
- I first checked my signals received on my entries 3 and 4 are identical. (Http://cmmpromotion.biz.st/files/test_BLX14/BLX_14MontageTemoin.JPG)
- Then I replaced one of the two cable back through the complete system BLX14
(Http://cmmpromotion.biz.st/files/test_BLX14/BLX_14_Montage_Test.JPG)
- I made some recordings (The distos are purely digital, so the sound is what it is ...) with different trimmings (micro knob, its clean, electric guitar and electro.
You can compare the two reports:
- Http://cmmpromotion.biz.st/files/test_BLX14/Test-BLX14% 20 -% 20Directe.mp3
- Http://cmmpromotion.biz.st/files/test_BLX14/Test-BLX14% 20 -%% 20Via 20BLX.mp3
Personally, except for trimmings (its clean => a little more breath on the BLX), I see no obvious difference.

I concede that it would have been speaking with a true test via amp and mic ...

Overall:
I put 9 because of:
- Absolutely not rackable
- The price of cable-BLX1 instrument.
