Only a few days prior to the NAMM Show, IK Multimedia has announced that its Groovemaker 2 app is now available at the Google Play store for mobile DJs and musicians so they can create ans remix electronic music on their Android devices.
Beatmaker 2 for Android includes a collection of loops that can be completed by importing audio files, recording samples or in-app purchasing Song Packs in EDM, dubstep, house, hip hop, trance, electro, drum n’ bass, reggaeton, rock styles and artist creations (3 to 5 Songs per pack).
The GUI is similar to the iOS app, with a matrix for easy remix, a Randomix algorithm, free adjustment of the duration of each loop, groove (1/2 bar to 8 bars) and rhythmic effects (from quarter note to 32th note).
The app also includes 16 effects with automation, a 50% to 200% time stretcher and a master section with compressor, EQ and filter.
You can share your remixes via e-mail, WiFi, FTP or SoundCloud or use them in other apps via Audio Copy. Note that Groovemaker 2 for Android is also compatible with the X-Sync features if you use the iRig Mix.
You can download a free version of Groovemaker 2 or purchase the complete edition for 8,99 € / $9.99. Details of the app are online at www.ikmultimedia.com.
