Looptastic Electro Edition is a new app for Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch to let you remix pre-produced tracks with the multitouch screen.
Each Looptastic track contains 10 stems (drums, percussion, bass, strings, synths, vocals, sound effects and more), all looped. You load tracks to play (up to five at once) by dragging them into one of three mixer zones, and their vertical placement controls the volume. A crossfader mixes left and right zones, with the center zone unaffected.
A multimode (lowpass, highpass, bandpass and notch) filter uses the touchscreen as an x-y axis to let you control its cutoff frequency and resonance. Tapping near the edges produces rhythmic gating.
Pricing & Availability
Looptastic Electro Edition (more genre editions are in the works) is now on sale in Apple’s App Store for $4.99, which includes 10 electro-house tracks.
There’s also a free Looptastic Electro Edition Lite that only includes one remixable track as a “first taste.”
