I love everything about this amp, except for the fact that the speaker output jacks on the back of the head are very fragile, mine broke and made the amp unusable for a short time until i can find out if B-52 can send me another jack.
It is a lovely high quality hand built point to point piece of art with obvious care and precision built in. I love everything about this amp and I expect it to last forever the way it is built. Customer service is the best I have ever experienced.
This is one of the most well-made and sturdy heads I've ever owned. It also weighs a ton. Make no mistake--this is a serious piece of hardware and the price tag reflects it, but if you're looking for that "all-in-one" amp the Diezel VH4 just may be the last amp you'll ever have to buy. If something were to happen to mine, I would without a doubt...
For smaller club gigs, this is the perfect amp. Paired with a 1 x 12 or a 2 x 12 this head delivers the signature Soldano tone without the burden of having to use an attenuator or sacrifice your tone by turning down your monster 100-watt head. The tones are crisp and clean, and the amp can drive a 4 x 12 as well as anything else. If anything hap...
Overall I believe this is a top notch amp that any serious player should have the opportunity to own or at least try out. I sold mine in a rash spur of "gear flipper mode" or "Gear Acquisition Syndrome" right before they discontinued and regretted it for a long time. The prices these go for now-a-days are really worth it and hold up to more mode...
The Vox Night train is an excellent solution for those who need a portable, all tube design. The affordability of this amp is unparalleled when comparing the sound quality of it's neighboring price points.
The Mesa Mark III amplifier may not be the most popular amp of the line, but is extremely good value with considering the versatility available. The going price for these on the used market is around $700. If you need a comparable feature set but desire updated aesthetics and sound quality-- you might look at picking up a Stiletto Ace for a mere...
The Marshall JVM210H is an ambitious amp filled with useful feature. However, when you bring the sound quality of the amp under scrutiny, the amp falls on it's face. Pricing is not competitive, regardless of feature set. The Jcm 2000 I've tested before is nearly a quarter of the price of this amp, yet delivers much more in terms of pure sound.
Slash fan or not, this amp should be on the radar of anyone who loves old school rock guitar tones. The amp is no swiss army knife, but it certainly doesn't leave you feeling compromised. Used prices are not excellent due to the limited production run. If you are looking for the modified marshall sound, there are several great mods on the used m...
The Jcm 2000 series has been around the block. Having been the most attainable tube amp to the generation that made pop punk and harcore music a big deal, it's been spotted on a lot of stage and heard in a lot of recordings. It's essentially a working man's solution for getting a useable mid to high gain sound without venturing into the more exp...
