Pedal FULLY configurable.

With POD edit, you can control, effects, amps, as well as the surface of the bracket:
you can call a button to one or more effects, also the expression pedal that can be called on any button of any effect.
(I do not use it, but who wants to, it can really be awesome).
You can also have a pre-amp in the loop that will be piloted for the little it is noon.

UTILIZATION

I Pod for 1 year and a half - I did a lot of different configurations, and it is quite difficult to get something right now.

I used the headphones and a sound system, but it was not enough to edit something really correct.
Today, I turned to a pair of Adam A5x + 22VSL a presonus, which allows me to edit something more serious and I arrive at least grind the amp simulations.

The manual ... I have open at one time or another, but ... once you're on the PC, you can configure everything just enough.

SOUND QUALITY

Guitar:
I play on a RAN 7 strings, I was a bit mixed on the sound, but I realized that it is because microphones too straight (EMG 81 and 85 require) - change to predict.
When you leave a guitar with more singing microphones, it will alone, really good pedal.
I also bought a VOX ToneLab ST - To have stood there a few days ago, I found much richer dynamics (? Presence lamp) on the other hand, although it is immediately a good sound ... I fucking shit myself!

Short! All amps are not magical with all guitars, but you can always find a good sound.
Fender are quite interresting for clean, the same way as the Hiwatt and Soldano.
The Crunches are not bad either.
The only "catch" remains for distortion - Notice to fans of Marshall JCM800 - take solo overdrive that provides more gain and a better control programming channel.

Low:
Not so satisfied.
I have a 4 and 1 June rope.
I am actually quite pleased with Ampeg, so that the drive not spin too: 15/20% after it goes into a really usable overdrive. They could not have put us SVT??

The Reverb and Delay are pretty good, some distos to troubleshoot and many other effects for guitar fans ways or pink floyd dream theater.

OVERALL OPINION

So yes, it certainly is not a FX axis, but it's good, it's 5x cheaper and is in almost all music stores.
For someone who wants to spend time to shape the sound is nikel, for others, you take a preamp or analog pedal simpler beast.

It is a tool that is made to be plugged into a PA or monitoring system, so do not plug it into a skyscraper amp for the preamp can there not be deactivated.

Too many pedals kill the pedals,
Not enough amps and still some gaps in the simulation,

UTILIZATION

the general configuration is rather complex but it is fairly simple for all editable elements.

Editing presets amp is simple since it is the same as that of standard amps (drive, bass, middle, treble, ...)

SOUND QUALITY

I have a special attraction to the effect of "harmonizer" that simulates a second guitar playing in harmony with your guitar. OVERALL OPINION

I use it for very little (about three weeks) but am Thurs fell in love with this gem. I have not used other pedals before, but this one is the one I liked best of all the models that I studied when I was looking for because it provided a variety of presets for amps and effects, and it was also more than other footswitches (plus a foot pedal for wah)

I have a mixed opinion on the value. I bought secondhand at 400E and it was in new condition (the previous owner who used very little) so 100E with less, it is a very good value for money.
However, it costs nine 500E, 100E and these greatly change the situation. to 450E, it's still passable, but 500E is a little hard ... So try to find secondhand in good condition

The HD 500 is solid, and this is clearly a plus for a device to be martyred has great kicks!

UTILIZATION

The HD 500 is easy to use. There are no menus under 50 (if not part of the setting a little more advanced amps supplied), direct controls on amp settings are very nice (a big plus compared to my former Axis FX, for example).

Effect settings are made via the four buttons below the screen. In itself it works against some settings by at least original, kind of frequencies in%? 2-3 There are strange things like that, but otherwise okay.

The screen is perhaps a bit small, especially for the tuner. A higher contrast not spoil anything.

Its effects can be placed in the desired position, against a far cry from the possibility of an Axe FX regarding the effects in parallel: one has only one parallel path, which may just be in more advanced cases.

I use the HD 500 with change presets on the bottom row, and the activation / deactivation effects on the top row. It's very convenient that way, plus LEDs that display the status effects.

It lacks a management IRs for cab simulations, it would have been interesting, much better than the current simulations.

The only real problem I have is the management of the afternoon. To integrate the Pod in my next setup I would like to control multiple devices noon that which involves sending multiple PC / DC at a preset change, which is not possible (only one). Damage, perhaps in a future firmware?

SOUND QUALITY

Overall pretty happy. Unsurprisingly lower Axe FX was my ex, but not that far on some amp models. The biggest problem for me is the lack of high gain simus, only 3: Dual Rectifier, and Powerball Uberschall. Alas the last two I do not think of Achievements. The Mesa is much better.

I am using that very few other simus, preferring to play with the gain knob on my guitar. For clear, I really like the Blackface normal.

On the effects, I mainly use the analog chorus (not bad at all, but lack of subtlety), time (not seductive enough, my TC Electronic 2290 Flashback mode is magic) and reverb (not bad) . ODs are not bad either, especially the Tube Driver.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall, this is a great product. We really can do everything.

Of course dealing with products dedicated or worth 5 times the price it does not face, but is never ridiculous. The Pod will clearly remain at home as B rig or multi-up effects.

The format is a great while, it is solid, easy to use. Give me a better management noon, high gain amps more convincing and more, the IRs and receives a 10

SOUND QUALITY

1: This tool is excellent from the moment we use the dual (two amps a router as you like)
and we have fun or just with efftes stereo. The beast in this case is formidable.
2: If you have several guitars so do not hesitate to create presets does your instrument (really important because the results are very different)
3: the effects of the very interesting wah whamy the steamer tube compressors the slicer
4: Effects BOFs: distos the modulation (better to play on the gains of amplifiers)
5: looper not top after recording the loop is unstable (collapsing volume) when you play it
6: bug known line 6 working there. From time to time the beast roars (loud noise that can blow up the ears)
I personally use it on a sound (no amp to carry around, play in stereo)

I would not stay on prior reviews, I'll just give my point of view compared to my pedal (boss gt5 and zoom g2) but it exudes quality in manufacture!

UTILIZATION

Manual (on Web) is a bit complicated and tiny lcd does not help matters.
on the pc, what bothers me is that you can not do copy / paste the preset if you want to move it (or I have not found).
The setting of amp simulator is too complicated for me so I will not judge the ergonomics.

SOUND QUALITY

at her: connected to a transistor amplifier is for me the best.
Sounds convincing st by bcp against blast, the noise gate is low in my ears, the wah wah I was impressed.
Slight disappointment at the grave, I can not get sound to garry moore eg. or I do not have enough mastery + equalizer amplifier part.

On an amp lamp, I am less convinced, sound drool, but I did not look long to redo the settings.

Not tested on a sound system, but it sounds awful headphone (headphone I thought that it sounds like the lamp but tt is far from being the case, TFW on the speakers is better?)

OVERALL OPINION

I have not for a month too soon to tt dig.
in ergonomics is really well done once you understand how it works.
The sounds are better than on my boss and my zoom (zoom in on the cons, I very easily got a convincing distortion while I gallery on the hd).
I play mostly u2 so clean / crunch and distortion + delay (modulés!) are great for that.
As against the boss which is better is the change of preset:
no split in our sound, and effects gradually fade from one preset to another while it cuts the hd net, and it's embarrassing when there are delay and reverb.
The expression pedal is also annoying: to have the maximum effect of a set at the foot, we must put the weight on the tip of the pedal (concretemùent, if I make the whammy, leaving just the toes on the pedal I'd be at a height equivalent to +11.5 semitone;
for the true octave, I have to press the pedal)

UTILIZATION

the manual is well explained, except that there is no tutorial to edit pod with the computer even though it looks simple at first we must grope to find the right location for the effects (before amp after amp etc. ..).
otherwise it takes a lot of patience when used live because you have to equalize all levels, I would have loved the amps are well puissance.lorsqu 'is used a lot of patches it becomes a puzzle.

SOUND QUALITY

I used it with two amps, a power engine 60 simulations were my Vox ToneLab BOFs are sounded better with.

OVERALL OPINION

to compare with my ToneLab SE (tlse) levels in the two simulations are equivalent to a benefit to the pod for sounds metals.niveau tlse the programming is better (this is the best pedalier thought for me). I had many bug with the pod: some patches suddenly increased power ????.
I hope updates will improve everything.
