OVERALL OPINION

Well, after reading some rather critical view on this pedal, I can not help but give my own experience.
I've been playing since 25/30 years, without ever trying to become a virtuoso, I had the opportunity to have or to test a lot of stuff, being always more demanding.
The Sansamp is one of the first amp simulator manufactured, and is still classified as such. We can only note that in this area, technology has progressed cosidérablement and the SansAmp is exceeded by products like the Pod, the Tonelab, and others.

on the other hand, in use distortion pedal, it's a killing. Plupard the pedals have a sound all their own, with the possibility of rather limited settings.
Do not forget the inclusion of the guitar used. A distortion that sounds warmly with a Start with a dirty can seem well-typed Gibson ...
The Sansamp sound allows a variety of quite exceptional, the low gain overdrive draft Fender, the powerful and slightly compressed distortion Mesa, through the high gain saturation sharp Marshall.Les knobs are very effective (sometimes too ), and 3 switches provide 27 basic sounds (if I look ...) Each share of a switch or patard is felt immediately in the sound, with a good amp, of course (in my opinion the most important in the chain, before the guitar)
Input from my tube amp, I always find the sound I want whatever the guitar used .....
Finally, what overdrivre overdrive or amp (without noise gate) does not provide its share of blows?? In this area, the SansAmp is pretty decent. Also, I've never needed to adjust the gain to more than half, so it's effective.
I had several distortion pedals that I sold without regret, but I always came back to the Sansamp ..... IMHO light to those who still have doubts .......
